I think it is a bit of chicken or egg. Forwards and Tedesco both allowed each other to do what they did.
Roosters weren't playing to go around them in the lead up to the last tackle. It was pretty much all get to a set spot on the field for the kick and get a quick play the ball to give the kicker time.
There was the odd attempt at playing through the middle but the game plan clearly wasn't conducive to attacking the line through Tedescos ball playing.

They threw everything at them . The knights were Herculean in defence . They literally made 1 error . I don’t know what you were watching

They spent the whole game in Newcastle's half of the field but threw very little at them. It was all setting up for the next play and the inevitable kick on the 6th.
If our attack was that insipid the forum would be in uproar.

More blame needs to go to Robson and Walker for their inept performances than Teddy.

Teddy actually did a good aerial kick, a clean grubber and spread the ball to Mark for his second try.

Teddy deserved that award just as much as any other player on the field.

Also did anyone notice there weren't any captains challenges all game? It was a fairly well reffed game overall.

The reason you won't have this game every week is because the players will milk the slow ruck all the time, getting arms and legs "stuck" in the tackle.

He had an Origin 1,6,7, and 9 as his spine and his only tactic was a high ball to Marky Mark and hope.
What a genius.
He turned an easy 20 point win into a 1 point nail biter.

As soon as the ref decided to put his whistle in his pocket, the Knights were gone. The line speed of the Roosters was amazing and fair to say bordering on offside.....all night.

Surely a few of these should have been called up.

I'm all for defence winning games but there has to be a little balance, and last night, there was none, all out defence.

Tigers would have never been able to win a game like this

Gee did the same thing last week compared to blowing hell.out of the whistle week one and.two...as.soon as.klein was punted he changed drastically
Probanly for the better but there was a few occaions both teams.players seemed.confused on some.incidents what was expected and what he reffed

I think the slow ruck helped Knights with their goal line D.

Two quick PTBs and knights would have been toast.

All games should be refereed like the grand final. I dont understand why they cant do it. Keen on your thoughts as to why @gregjm87 ?

Imo...they want fast play,.lots of tries
Last.nights game was for the purists.

Many today dont have attention spans, NRL need scoring plays often with lots of attack otherwise the casuals will look elsewhere

Look at union ...ruck after ruck after ruck..boring and doesnt rate bar the internationals

Ted saved tries and defused many attacking high kicks. He also led the team beautifully and was a major influence on the relentless pressure the knights defence was under. As it turned out, the Newcastle defence was great and thwarted the attempts, however the pressure was constant and he was driving a lot of it.
Had that been a normal round 11 game Roosters would have put 50 on them.

Exactly. You are proving my point. Teddy was a workhorse, nothing more. Knights scored 3 tries with no field position and the Roosters defence was unbelievable. Ponga puts at least 30 on them with the same ball. Teddy couldnt.

Give the knights some credit they defended immensely and were missing a recent member of the spine ...crossland had been massive for them this year
