Game standard ordinary despite individual moments on the back of questionable defense.
But way too early to judge either team.
The comp has too may moving parts and between the refs and the rules and injuries, it's almost a lottery, and even more so in the early rounds.
After the 3rd origin game, the comp table will be showing who's the real deal and who's not.

You can't watch the grand final and say that.

Yes Walsh fumbled a catch tonight and a better defensive fullback may have turned this game.

Clearly a rocks and diamonds player.

That said, he is a gun. The Grand final proved that. The trick is for Madge to coach some real defensive nouce into him and then he will go to that next level.

Mate he had a good finals series and GF and that has people cross eyed and over rating him. There is far more evidence to the contrary though and last night is not an outlier. He is a good player but should not be the Kangaroo fullback. He shouldn’t be the QLD fullback.
His positioning, anticipation, defence - both on the man and in the air are average at best. He goes missing in action far too often.
People give Bula shit but he is a better all rounder

If ever there was a season we needed to learn to tackle it is this one. The teams who sort their fitness and defence out early will fare better in the 6 again lottery and have an early legup for the 8
