3 wishes for the Tigers v Dragons next week

The three areas I would love to see major improvements next round v the Dragons are these

1/ Completion rates Anything under 75% isn't acceptable If we can control the footy better it will put less pressure on our defence which is showing a few early season kinks

2/ Kicking game We need to improve this by about 1000% Personally I reckon we have the worst kicking game at the moment in the NRL We are at our best when we have a good long kicking game and good kick chase

3/ Smarter options being taken Robbie and Benji in particular are taking too many high risk options in attack and is the reason we seem to be very stop start in attack We are going the short side far too often which should be used as a surprise option Manly and Cronulla seemed to be able to read us too easily

What are your hopes for the Dragons game and what 3 areas do you want us to improve greatly in ??

Must have 4 Props and an attacking Utility
Go forward before going sideways
Stop trying to score off every play… Work the reset!

1\. For Robbie to retire the kick into legs 2m out from try-line.
2\. Give Lawrence early ball so he can destroy Hornby like Morris did.

1\. I don't mind that Farah pet play - It works more than people realise - worse case is we usually get a repeat set of 6.

2\. I have a feeling after watching the tapes we will see this - same on Ayshfords side - and when the Dragons decide to start rushing up…. Benji and Moltzen will come into play as well.

Sheens will light a fire under their asses. I don't see Price giving his boys the same motivation.

Tigers by a lot - irrespective of Ellis in/out.

All the above,
Plus, I'm hoping that I don't have a group off loud mouth Saints supporters sitting behind me, commenting on every play as if they're the coach

I just want to see us continuing to work towards finding our rythym.

It was actually during the time of most injury last season that our playmakers settled down a bit and played a little more conservative football for longer periods of the game.

Winning would be great but it is no certainty

Completions, kicking game and staying focused. If the Tigers get their completion rate up, they've got enough firepower to knock off anyone. If they can also kick well in conjunction with this and not switch off, they'll beat anyone.

1\. Passion, Desire. Hunger.
2\. I want blokes who have barely got their jersey's dirty in the first two rounds, to play like their life depends on it. Play like its their last hour on earth. HAVE A BLOODY GO !!!
AYSHFORD
MOLTZEN
BLAIR
GROAT

Those four players are not putting in. They are not trying hard enough. They have been the difference between a win and a loss.

3\. Fulton, BMM and Junior Moops to be given more time on the paddock or to even start.

Sheens needs to fire them up !!!!! FIRE UP !!!! PLAY LIKE YOUR LIVES DEPEND ON IT.

How right u are on #2 it costs us games on end.

More like needs to improve 5000000%

And stop looking for the bomb all the time… Oodles of chances to run it on the 5th. However in a semi final with 3mins to go we run it on halfway

Still burns

1\. A win.
2\. A win.
3\. A win.

I don't care what it takes or how we do it, if one of these come true I'll be a happy little Vegemite.

1\. Matt Bell to play. Was very good in his first hit out in our colours and we missed him in the middle stanza on Friday.
2\. Completion rate has to improve for reasons everyone has already pointed out.
3\. Cut out the 1% plays. It's only the first couple of rounds, find rhythm and form before throwing hail mary's and loose kicks.

Sorry Happy I've got 4…

1\. Marshall has to run at the line in the attacking 20m more than once a game. He looks a chance to score every time he does it and it puts defenders in two minds. He is too focused on hitting the wingers - everyone knows it is his favourite play and our wingers are under all sorts of pressure when they get it. He needs to mix it up. On a similar note the attacking kick on tackle 3 needs to be a shock tactic not a stock tactic.
2\. Control the ball. Our completion rates were too poor in the first 2 rounds which is to be expected but still needs to be addressed.
3\. The defensive line needs to move up. There were a few times where Foran and DCE were standing or walking sideways and still able to get away from defenders. I appreciate that rushing out of the line is wrong but if the whole line keeps moving it puts playmakers under pressure.
4\. Kicking games needs to improve. Aim for the spaces. A 30m kick that finds space and rolls is better than a 40m kick that hits the fullback on the chest. Likewise can Beau Ryan instruct the rest of the backline how to kick a grubber that doesn't go over the dead ball line? An underhit grubber that is fielded a metre out is much better than a 20m restart

Cheap shot Happy! As for the second sentence I'm not sure it is a matter of missing Gibbs but more a general mindset. The whole line needs to move not just Gibbs

I agree with all of this especially when Benji runs to the line. It is always successful and it puts the defense on the back foot in a big big way. It always always works well.

(Moltzen should run to the line too !!!!)

Bug I think you're way out of line saying Groat is not putting in. I thought he was great against the Sharks (especially defensively) and while he wasn't that good against Manly you have to remember it was his first start.

He is definitely putting in.

In hindsight you are right. He is. We just need more from him.
