Forever Autumn is my ringtone.

Cool Sheer , my favourite song is Thunderchild

Still a big fan of the intro by Richard Burton, which is followed by the great music.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP1pIb43AUI

Seen the footage of the live concerts back in 2011/12 looks brilliant

David Essex was brilliant in the original as well

The 70's was when a lot of international acts started coming to Oz. I remember going to see bands such as Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Free, Creedence, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Yes, Elton John, Cat Stevens, Joe Cocker, Status Quo, Slade, Lindisfarne, Manfred Mann, The Kinks etc etc etc - it was definitely the golden age for live concerts in Australia.

Couldn't help but put the girls from Cheetah in. They just want to spend the night.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPqJBwX1tm0Cheetah were an Australian hard rock band active between 1976 and 1984, Enjoy

Holy crap you must have been loaded. I only used to pub rock, but great times with local acts with the odd international thrown in.

I could pick a bunch of Thin Lizzy tracks, but I'll go with this one.

Good thread!

Thin Lizzy kicked arse…......

Listening to Jailbreak, Don't Believe A Word and the best song, Cold Sweat cranked to flat-out while cruising along the coast on a summer's arvo is about as good as it gets IMO. Great band.

Saw Black Sabbath live in the mid seventies, I think Slade (noddy holder) was on the same bill. Great time for live music, lived in Balmain at the time and plenty of pubs had live music every weekend

Sabbath back then would of been a memorable concert.
Have seen them a couple of times in the last few years when they have toured here and they were still mind-blowing. Right up there with my all-time favourite concerts for sure.

Prices were nothing like today - i also did the pub rock circuits at the time although in the early 70's they were only in their infancy - there was all the big places like Chequers but it was mid to late 70s that the real pub rock era started to emerge and really took off in the 80s - to me the 70s was the overseas invasion and the 80s was when Aussie pub rock took over.

The Sabbath concert at the Hordern Pavilion was the loudest i have ever heard a band. The support band was AC/DC just after Bon had joined the band. Pretty memorable alright.

Nice!

Slayer would have to be the loudest I've heard, was still shaking off the ringing ears two days after the show. Closely followed by Motorhead.

Let's not forget emerald.

I'd love to see the tigers run out into the ground to "Are you ready" that fires me up (or something similar). But of course, we have eye of the tiger ?

Emerald yep. Chinatown, Rosalie, Killer On The Loose: all great as well.
Boys Are Back In Town is a timeless classic without doubt, heard it so many times though it goes in one ear and out the other nowadays. Back in the late 80's-early 90's when the ARL used to bring Panasonic Cup games to Perth they always used to play Boys Are Back as an intro before games at the WACA, it did the job of getting the blood pumping!
One of the only bands that I never caught playing live and regretted it.

I can never decide who I like best.
**Depends on your mood at the time of listening**

1\. The Beatles
2\. The Rolling Stones
3\. The Doors
4\. Creedence Clearwater Revival
5\. The Kinks
6\. The Animals
7\. Led Zepplin
8\. Bob Dylan

Thats how i view it as well. Yes i have my favorites but music is a mood thing and i can listen to and enjoy a lot of different music.

X2
How sick.

Admit it we were just too lucky having all those great bands in our teenage years plus dozens of other. I currently have my missus hooked on Simon and Garfunkel, Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Don MacLean, Kinks, Elvis (whom I listen to more now than then)
