A Call to action - Rozelle Village

Just to clarify, I did not post the herald article to make anyone look foolish. It was merely posted as it gave more to the rationale of Leichhardt Council requesting an inquiry.

The telegraph article was low on detail, the herald marginally better. The average person or above could not draw any conclusions from the telegraph article for the inquiry request unless they followed testimony from ICAC.

I didn't think you did and I'm glad you posted it as I'd not seen that bit of info - my SMH failed to be delivered for the 3rd time this month. I guess the point I was more making was that there is a fair bit of "let's take this to ICAC!" not just in this matter but in the community in general. In my past life I used to chat with people from ICAC quite often and they use to groan when they read it!!

In any case the project didn't seem to progress very far under the previous government so either Obeid isn't as influential as is suggested (which I don't believe), he had some interest in Rozelle for reasons unknown (probably), or he had a less sinisiter reason for asking about it (unlikely) or the whole thing didn't happen at all (possibly).

On ten news they showed inside Balmain leagues club. It was filthy. There was dead rats in the car park there was graffiti and syringes. Squatters use it. It was quite a sad sight. They interviewed Paul Sironon and Keith Barnes.

They showed some of the meeting last night as well.

How do you know it won't happen? Are you privy to information that the general public aren't?

Sounds like the Bug is back!!

Several golf clubs? Could someone in the know tell us what clubs the Wests group is running? Serious question, not trying to start anything.

Wests Campbelltown were buying out the NSW Rugby League Golf Resort in Narellan.

They also own Camden Valley Golf course. Wests Campbelltown are cashed up.

I think they may also own Camden Valley Golf course, but I could be wrong. Wests Campbelltown are cashed up.

I hope they don't over-extend like Penrith did. Thanks for the Gary.

They also own Camden Lakeside Golf course.

With the NSWRL course, it was co-owned by other NSWRL leagues clubs. Wests had a share and were looking to buy out the club's shares. It was going to a member vote the last I heard.

They have grown slowly. They had a ridiculous balance sheet about 5 or 6 years back with about 80% shareholder equity. They have bought opportunistically during the stressful conditions of the past couple of years.

Ta wacko

Isnt this a perfect opportunity for Wests Tigers to have their own licensed venue>?

I think it's time to have a WT leagues club. I don't really support the leagues club funding model but it would go way to shoe that Balmain are committed to the WT.

Seems ridiculous when half the blokes in balmains most senior team wont even be legally allowed to have a beer

Everyones saying "Lets move forward, the past is history"

Heres a chance….we arer moving more and more towards a real club rather than a franchise (3 grades now) and development squads I believe

I guess true colours will come to the fore...as usual

Very happy to move forward under a one brand umbrella for Leagues clubs.

In fact it may be an opportunity to remove the traditional funding model of grants and instead pay fees for use of the name and branding to promote the clubs.

Junior Reps is the only thing i find myself steadfastly opposed to amalgamation of brands

Did anyone else read the email from Rooney yesterday… things are starting to get very serious it seems... hopefully this matter is resolved quickly so that construction can begin!!

I watched 'Grand Designs Australia last night.

The building was in Annandale in Leichhardt Council area.
It took then 8 years to get a DA through Leichhardt council and that was just for a new town house.

Imagine what the Tigers leagues club had to go through with that group of B@$!@^ds…

I really hope our DA gets the go ahead, mainly just because those people have opposed it so fiercely at every turn for no sense or reason clear to anyone outside of Leichhardt council.

Would you also support Wests Ashfield and Campbelltown renaming themselves as WestsTigers and taking the Magpie off the club logo to show their commitment?
Can't see that happening.
