One of the things evident about this competition is how close the teams are.

As much as I'm enjoying Parramatta being last, a fair minded spectator would understand they're not playing as badly as their position suggests. Same for all the bottom teams and you only need to be 5% off you game to suffer a loss to them. Cite Tigers v Eels, Knights, Titans and Raiders - we needed to turn up at 100% and didn't.

It's been a very difficult competition to tip - anyone can beat anyone on their day.

We've demonstrated that against the Roosters, Melbourne, Saints and Souths. They didn't play badly against us, they were just slightly off their game and we got them - kudos to us.

But you never want any of the current players moved on nice guy club legend ect ect can not have it both ways ….there are winners and losers this roster is predominantly stacked with losers .

It’s funny how every time we play a top 4 team they are having a bad day/night

We played poorly on Friday and if we put in an effort like that either of the previous two weeks we get lapped

100% CFK - I thought the game against Souths was our best full performance all year. Souths didn't play that badly, we just didn't allow them to play their style of game because of our fast line speed and dominant performance in the tackle. We were up and in on them with enthusiasm which frustrated them and led to errors that in turn we capitalised on with good game management. The effort Friday against the Dogs was far below this - we went through the motions without any real intent or hunger. They simply wanted to win more than us and we allowed them to believe they could - they were far from explosive but were strong in D and ran hard which was more than could be said for us.

Once again - in situations and on stages that present us with an opportunity to take control of our destiny, like the Titans game or like this one, we come up short.
Is it belief, or confidence? Why can't we win when we really should?

I have learnt over the years that traditional rival games are no sure thing no matter who is expected to win. Our loss to the Dogs was not unexpected just difficult to understand when our halves should have dominated.

Yes it wasn't good, however you should be able to defend a 7 tackle set just like a 6 tackle set. Defense was poor.

Watch the actual games we didnt turn up this week and we played passive. I think the dewie track scared us and we played a simple game even when on their line.

We played to safe

The biggest problem was we didn't build pressure with consecutive sets like we have been able to do this season

Our kicking game as whole was extremely ordinary again , the Dogs rolled us up the guts and we struggled to get field position consistently and we continually were trying to start sets from our own 10 metre zone

Dogs played very good footy , their completion rate was very high and they didn't miss a heap of tackles

Personally (with the help of hindsight ) I think this would have been a good game to play Liddle and get him attacking from dummy half , we didn't really put any pressure on the Dogs they didn't look like they were pressured at all

Hindsight smacked me in the face on Thursday night when they trimmed the squad and left Liddle out of the nineteen.

This is 100%.
It's an even competition the only difference between top sides and bottom is a little consistency over 80 and week to week.
I'm shattered really,season over.
But the more I think about it those 5 Hiss took the edge off our game backing up 6 day later against a side who played well.
We either needed fame today of dogs to be at off. Not getting many breaks.

Why are Brooks kicks so predictable as to where they will head?

you arent going to like this answer BBF… there were several times that the commentating team drilled us for alot of one out running in the opposition 20m. Robbie often plays for Robbie. Dishing out 3 or 4 ruck runs to the pigs, then feeding a half for a solitary touch in a set of 6 makes for predictability. We werent playing through the halves enough, its that simple. Forcing moments rather than being able to pick them. Marshal phoning it in, also made Brooks an easy target. Bit of a perfect storm even though we had the field position.

Even my 10 year old was screaming stop kicking it out when we were losing and time was ticking down. Brooks did it twice from memory.
