A compelling reason

The player signings are an illusion Titans and Dogs will be buying a team with the ability to compete for the finals. They won’t challenge and eventually will end up where we are now.

Player development and youth is the only way. Big name players like Souths and Easts sign when contending is the only exception.

A compelling reason to join the club: Evidence has shown that you can become a star in the NRL by playing for the Tigers. Although that does not mean you will be a star *while* you are playing for them. They have been historically good at developing players, launching them into larger contracts.

If you want to have a good career, but your path is blocked or stalling at your current club, Wests Tigers is the place to be. You can spend anywhere from 1-3 years working on your game without the pressure of failure. Once you feel you are ready to earn the big bucks, you can reach out to other clubs. Those clubs know the pedigree - ex-Tigers players can be very good. Some of the best players in the game have come through here.

When you are ready to leave, you can simply walk out the door. No one will stop you, even if you have years left on your contract. And that is why you should join the Wests Tigers. Great to develop your game and use as a stepping stone to greater heights.

You may feel bad for a short while after leaving them high and dry, but there is a good chance your new club will have someone who did the same thing. They will rationalise your decision, saying it was their fault, not yours - they made you train too hard, or not enough, or they have too many home grounds, or one fan gave you a hard time because you bottled a game - it doesn't really matter the reason, because all that matters is that you are set for the rest of your career. Enjoy.

This exactly . By the time the continuity in those teams hits , if playing together , the coach will probably be gone , and the guys who signed just for the money , will be gone as well. Then the cycle begins all over again . Our problem is , that when we did this first time around , we kept firing coaches and changing the direction , so the kids were like “this sux , there’s no plan , im gonna take the mo way from the club I loved as a kid “ . This also meant we lost the next guys in the process because we put our eggs into the top guys talent (Papenhuyzen and JAC) . We totally ballsed the whole thing up.

If this is the plan we have to stick to it .

We will lose good juniors along the way that get cherry picked by Roosters, Souths, Storm. The hope is they develop enough that we keep the ones we want in a side that competes in finals every year. If we grow our own stars then you can pay a marquee player in a position of need reasonable coin to win. Panthers big signings have been Capewell, Korisau hardly big money when they signed.

Yea , but that’s the cost of doing business . Every team suffers from that . It’s the core players you have to identify , and show them that their either the present / or the future . I’d say the 15 ,16 year olds out Penrith way would be already identified as the latter when the current squad get to thier late 20s early 30s.

We won’t be able to keep them all. That is just reality.
