Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He continues to improve under the high ball and is now as good as any rival fullback in the NRL in catching high balls, especially the ones under pressure.
He would be great in a team that makes plenty of line breaks and half breaks where his primary attacking role is backing up and finishing off try scoring opportunities.
Unfortunately for us we don’t have enough of those type of players to really benefit off his main strength.
In our team we need our fullback to be ripping teams to shreds first and foremost. We have playmakers etc, we need players who can break the line. And the fullback is usually the number one running threat in most teams.

He has his moments he just doesn't make things happen by himself. Yes he's good attacking in the air but that's a secondary skillset. Only useful when you have a bomb landing 5m out. If you can rip through the line you can do so anywhere on the field which makes you a massive threat.

Part of the blame for his lack of development is on him, the other part is on Benji for not building around his strengths more. He would do well to watch lots of video of Edwards in the offseason

Tall and light.
His Mrs carried him over the threshold
He needs to work this FB role out, I don’t see any other spot for him.
He's just never filled out. Kini has a more solid build despite being younger. Not express speed, not powerful enough to bust through a tackle. He's got to work out who he is and how he'll impact the game

The only thing Manly have better than us is speed and genuine attacking threat on their edges and out wide.
If you have this, the rest of their team just need to do their job, nothing more nothing less.

Bit like saying all Margot Robbie has is good looks

Although we would have to be the slowest team in the comp by the length of the Flemington straight …can only conclude speed is not a quality they prioritise in their team building ,,,

it is quite clear Benji and his cohorts are underestimating the minimum requirement and value of having speed in your team line up.
Not only would we quite clearly field the slowest 2-5 each and every week, we also quite clearly field the slowest 11-13 every week.
If Benji cannot see this is a major problem, we will simply not improve.
Ideally speed, size and power, but if you can’t find players who have it all, a reasonable element of speed is required at the very least.

There is a good player inside of To'a maybe all the injuries has affected him and he plays not to get injured instead of playing to win
Our next game away to the Knights and not only do we look outclassed in the spine, but we are severely outclassed in our 2-5 and outclassed with the line break threat of Dylan Lucas. Where is our tackle bust and line break threat coming from ?
If you are very limited with your tackle bust and line break threat it is almost impossible to beat good teams and the Knights are currently a very good team due to their strong tackle bust and line break threat.
Some of our best tackle bust and line break threats are currently playing NSW Cup who have a bye this coming weekend.
