Anyone could of won with that Souths team then players turned on him which our players are now doing train hard play half asleep

We know that changing coaches means nothing. Time to change tack and back a coach and give him the time and means to clean out.

The Souths team that he built? Yeah he won a premiership with them. Also won a premiership in Wigan their first in decades. He knows how to make a premiership winning team unfortunately it’s a lot harder and slower a process here than at other clubs

Reality is we will have a rubbish team until our highest paid players move on:

2021:
Packer
Reynolds

2022:
Mbye

Don’t know why that is so difficult to understand. We have the same problem as the Titans and Bulldogs.

He won’t be that caliber of players here which will be his down fall

He’s trying to develop that caliber of players because we will struggle to sign them. It’s the only way

No but you also can't sign players who refuse to sign contracts with you

He did a great job at Souths but I’m not sure he built them. Burgess and Inglis we’re already there. Nice base to start from.

Souths were nearly there when he arrived. They just needed a push.

One observation from last night - They looked really tired. Almost like they played an hour before and had to back up. I wonder how effective Madge is at the light and shade or whether he is just full throttle with training all week every week.

I said the same thing about Ricky Stuart too, he cant coach!

Look at what he has done for Canberra, competitive each week and top 8 consistently, Madge can do the same for the West’s Tigers!

Sign him up!

Look how long it took Ricky to get them into a top team. Same goes for Arthur at eels. It takes time and there’s gonna be some crap years in between

There's one player that nobody seems to mention, he seems like a bit of a forum favourite and I've never really been sold on him and I think it's about time someone called him out and that someone may as well by me, so here goes...............

Aloiai

This guy has enough NRL experience now and has been at the club long enough to become a leader of our pack when we desperately need one but he just isn't and I don't think he'll ever be.
The opportunity for him to become one is there and has been there for a while now, but I just don't think he's got it in him.

I've reserved judgement on Josh and waited for him to become a regular starter which he has become but now I feel I've seen enough of him to know that he's not a top line footballer.

He's not our biggest problem but I can't see us doing much better if he's a part of our future starting pack, sorry

This right here is our problem.
The fans blaming Cleary for screwing our cap. We move on xyz and free up another mil or 2 to spend on a player but still would be happy to play Aloiai as our starting prop.
Not just Aloiai, Twal, Garner. These guys are a core group but they aren’t the core starters in successful teams. They are the Aubusson’s/ havlis/Terepos, in the top sides.

That is how far we have to go!

Is it time that BJ got moved into the second row alongside his brother two strong running backrowers in the mould of Kikau

No.

Stuart with the Raiders took time. Brad Arthur at the Eels coached them to a wooden spoon two years ago. Robertson at the Roosters came 15th one year and supposedly he was under pressure until Cronk arrived and they landed two premierships.

Coaching instability is a killer and realistically there are no better candidates available.

Building the Tigers into a premiership force will take time. But maybe not as long as some think. We finished ahead of both Penrith and Newcastle last year and toweled them the second time we played them.

I'm skeptical about a wholesale clean-out. We have moved on players before only to see them perform very well at other clubs.

We have a core group of good players. Ideally we can make a few judicious signings at realistic prices.

A stable spine would really help. Maybe Reynolds. I'd like to see Madden given a go. Hopefully Liddle has an injury free run.

What would really help next year is if we can string some wins together to build confidence and momentum.

Don’t know why that is so difficult to understand. We have the same problem as the Titans and Bulldogs.

The only keeper IMO of those 3 is Packer.
