I think its an integration issue as much as anything. Some of the players on that list were very good until they came to the Tigers.

Same could be said for every club, in fact the same could be said for any business.

Sometimes the people you get work out and sometimes they don't.

Yep agreed, Tbone and I think putting McCracken on that list is a bit steep - what happened to him could hardly be considered poor form on his part.

Judging by the calibre of players that have been targeting for recruitment, I thought I may as well throw my hat in the ring.

Of course, I was a superb player in my day with a great left hand offload, although I haven't pulled on the boots in years. My stats speak for themselves:

Club - Oberon
Age 40 +
Appearance 81 (1988-1997, One appearance in 2004)
Tries - 6
Averages Yards Per Hit Up - 5.7
Average Metres per game - 67
Favourite Tigers player - Shannon McDonnell

See you at preseason training for 2013

Seems like we are both going to get a crack

Its not what you know its who you know

Willie Manu

He was a junior, not a recruit. And he was damn effective for a little while. I remember a 50 m solo try against the Roosters at C-town in 02\. he was an early example of a player not surviving who wasn't in Sheens clique. That guy was good for us

I think its unfair to label Jared Mccracken a poor recruit…
He was a great player until he was met by foul play by Stephen Kearney.

Not his fault... Not Wests Tigers Fault....

Don't think you can put Terry Hill in that lot either.
Like him or not he put in every game.

Well at least every game that he wasn't injured or suspended…

What a ridiculous thread. Talking about the glass being half empty. For some people, they won't be happy until Sheens (or Humphreys or Farah or Marshall or...) tops up the glass with his pound of flesh! **Someone must be blamed!!!** :unamused:

How dare you put Jobbo in here. He was the original man hugger and was first man in, way before beau Ryan made it trendy

Take a look at the first 50 WT players,

They are all of the same ilk.

and Virtually all before the Sheens era.

John Grant?

What are you on. He has only been here 5 minutes and has not played first grade at this time. Duh.

Gee theres some harsh critics. Before McCracken got injured in 2000 we were second on the ladder at the halfway point in the year. And I hardly say Matt Jobson is a bad signing when you consider he was there only for depth.

Keep in mind our whole 2005 backline was pretty much bought. Hodgson, Richards, Elford, Whatuira, Prince and even Benji (wasnt a local junior).

In recent years I could question the logic of signing an incredible amount of wingers like Utai, Reddy, Brown, Ryan, Tuquiri, Grant.

I am also going to go into bat for Ryan O'Hara. I actually thought when he played he was pretty decent. I know he was injured alot, but when he was on the field I felt he had some good games, but then for no reason hed find himself in premier league the next week or not in the side. Same story for guys like Matt Head, Junior Moors etc
