Aaron Woods - Signs with Bulldogs 2018 - Sharks 2018 [Official]..

What happened to the "Bred Not Bought" Bulldogs mantra ha ha ha ha. Woods is a good, but not great player, isn't a match winner or someone who can really influence the outcome of a game IMHO. Tedesco….losing him will hurt big time, because on his day his performance wins games

I don't think he feels pressure the bloke has ice running through his veins. That said he has to attract players with what will be the weakest roster in the NRL.
If there was a time to lose marquee players it is now.
I posted before that irrespective we will be better next year heaps of options.
Spending 2.85m on W,T,M would have been irresponsible.
 
I'd love to be at Leichhardt next week to hear the reaction he gets when his name is announced. And you thought JT copped it delux during team announcements.

Thank god he is gone. I can cop it sweet if we lose both him and Ted but I can't stand losing Ted and keeping him.

900k for Woods should be unheard of, stupid figures. Wouldn't pay a cent over 450k for his pathetic efforts.

Just hope we can hold on to Tedesco, he and Brooks will be dynamite together.

So he can miss a quarter of the year and fake injuries in the games he does play? No thanks.
 
What I really want to know if Dogs sign Woods, where do they get the salary cap space from? It's all well and good to want to offload players, but if they are on contract, you have to find someone who wants them.

And if you sign the big-name player first, you then weaken your position because the interested clubs know you are desperate to offload.

It's like buying a house, if you go ahead and buy one before selling, you can risk it, but at some point you are very likely to own two houses because sales don't always go to plan/timeline. If you don't sell your first house in time, it becomes subject to capital gains tax, and you don't want to sell your first house in desperation.

The cap has gone up, they are letting go of Lichaa, Hopoate and have a third party lined up to keep Reynolds.
They are shopping Kasiano, Eastwood and Graham and will be able to offload them to someone.
Will also sign Foran. Teddy is not going to the Dogs.

I think they are making a big mistake with Woods he is way overpriced.
