I really dont see the silver lining that some are seeing just yet….it seems a lot like hope more than anything

Yep
Losing Woods in isolation is fine, but losing him as well and Teddy and Moses… not a good look. Our club has copped a hammering in the press, and its only going to get worse.
I need a drink.

It's a disgrace and an embarrassment….. those in charge of running the club should hang their in head in shame.

Well I feel like its back to square one. Terrible message to send to other players off contract - when the best players in our club are over it no matter what we offered them.
Good luck Ivan in selling what we have to offer cause it aint going to be easy.

I'm with you. If we lose Teddy and Woods, miss out on our intended targets and end up with over priced hacks there will only be misery ahead.

We'd be like a millionaire living on Mars. So much potential to build a great team from the ground up, but if there aren't any great players to buy it will all be for nothing. To start with I feel that Widdop is now unlikely and we're seriously running out of decent options to fill that spot..

I think cap space and a large number of players on the market gives me how. False hope probably but never the less hope.

Whilst its great to have cash you can only get quality if you pay overs or have something quality players like.

With our 2 rep players gone and a quality young half leaving we are left with key spots to fill and will have to pay overs to fill them.

Its rebuild time and will take years to recover from this.

Good luck if we make the 8 in the next 3yrs.

If we lose Woods for Matulino that's a great trade off in terms of value for money.

I've been really annoyed at Woods this year. It frustrates me how often he takes a hit-up and instead of trying to dent the line he starts looking for an offload as soon as he has the ball. This often leads to him passing the ball to someone in a worse position than him. He's not worth big money at all.

You build clubs around Halves and Props… Losing your most important player is embarrassing.

Ivan will need a few rabbits out of his hat to replace Woods and the gap between his other peers in the pack!

If we can't hold the players we want, the signs aren't good for the future. Is there a future for Wests Tigers ?

Maybe not. It seems to me the NRL are basically scraping the salary cap making the big clubs bigger and small clubs smaller.
Time could be up for us.

If Woods to Bulldogs is true, that's almost the end for me. The incompetence of the people running this club is astounding! We had 3 Origin players last season, and we've seemingly driven them all out of the club, along with one of our hottest young players.

We may end up with additional money in the cap, but honestly, what kind of player would want to join this disgrace of a club after they've just seen the best three players walk out?

Any player we sign to replace them will be for overs, and we'll end up like we were back in 2001/02, just with a good coach fighting against the tide. The long term work of Sheens & McDonnell in harbouring our best asset (junior development) has been destroyed by people with no clue in management and at board level. Go can walk (she should walk on principle given she has no real power anyway), Pascoe can follow her, as can the Wests directors who have driven this great club into the ground.

If you guys actually believe having blokes in the team who don't want to be there is less embarrassing than having players leave….you're messed up.

Woods seems he doesn't just not want to be there he DISLIKES the club.
Tedesco has basically left once before and is dancing around it now if he leaves now he is a loss yes but was never going to be great with the tigers anyway.

New players and hopefully a new culture = silver lining

How can some of you lay the blame solely in the hands of the club?
These players are / were reportedly offered massive contracts, more than other clubs.
The club moved on Robert and got rid of Taylor alledgedly because of some of these muppets, they alledgedly looked at bringing in a horse whisperer and spiritual magic hands to keep these chaps happy and it's all the clubs fault.
Absurd. Millenials don't understand personal responsibility.

If Woods could be swapped for Graham effective immediately I would take the deal and run.

At least we would get something out of it.

For those that bag Woods he isn't the NSW and Aussie prop for no reason. Sure people get frustrated but we suffer big time when be is off the park. He will be a large loss for us just like Teddy will be.

Issue with Moses is if we can't get Widdop or Johnson we are stuffed for a 5/8th option for at least another 18mths.

By the time we get another partner for Brooks his contract will be up for grabs and we will be going through this with him again….

Our facilities are terrible, we can't retain our juniors despite offering overs to do so. Hardly a time to see any positives.

I've been thinking along those lines lately. When a cash cow club can basically hire who they want at will, the playing field will never be level. Perhaps the strategy is a smaller comp, fewer clubs with better players resulting in an improved viewing product, tighter betting odds generating more money.

Agree. Woods the captain. Loves the tiger's. Had 2040 tattooed on him. Never wanted to leave loves the club. Dragged out contract negotiations cos he wanted to know the future of the club. It couldn't be any clearer we are heading in the right direction. Woods needs to finally grow some balls and tell the tiger's fans that his leaving cos if he has signed with the dogs after everything the tiger's have done for him and all the support the fans have given him than obviously the COP means nothing and it's time to put tiger's supporters out of their misery. I hope Tedesco is staying but if not it's time for him to aim up as well and let us know because tiger's fans are over it n deserve better than what's been dished up. And no i don't blame the club in anyway as i believe they have done everything in their power to accommodate these players to no avail including sack a coach who obviously had no bearing on what the players decicions were going to be. I believe they were waiting for the same opportunity that was presented to moses to make out they were pushed by the club but with Cleary announced they couldn't say they didn't like the coach as they hardly had time to work with him.
