What a coward
Waited until this Leichhardt game was over to release this…with 13 weeks until the next LO game, maybe he thinks the heat will have died down by then

Haha, fat chance his traitorous efforts will ever be forgotten by WT supporters. Wouldn't surprise if he doesn't take the field for WT again to be honest. He has backed himself into a deep, dark corner now, he will be mercilessly hammered by fans after todays interview.
Shame he chose to leave in this fashion. Will forever be remembered as a grub now.

“It was one of the hardest decisions of my life,” Woods says.
>
“I’ve come to terms with it now. If you had have asked me at the start of the year, I would’ve said ‘mate, I’ll be a one club player at the Wests Tigers’.
>
“I’ve never looked at any other club. I’ve always wanted to be a Wests Tigers player, I’m a local junior.
>
“But things happen and things out of my control happened. I had to go and make a decision that was best for myself.”

oh please, you had months MONTHS to sign the contract prior to JT's departure, so don't go trying to point the finger there.

At the start of the year you still hadn't signed the damn contract and yet we expect to believe you when you say you would have been a one club player? yeah right.

once again all the clubs fault and no blame for him…..I call shenanigans on that.
He just should've said "I've had enough and I'll be looking elsewhere" and people would've copped it.
It's such a shame it's come to this, because my 5 year old loves him and thinks that he will play for the Tigers forever....bit early for him to learn that some things aren't always what they seem.

If you wanted know who the coach was before you signed why did you leave when Cleary was signed on. You had no intention of signing with us. You must have wanted Taylor to remain then. Your whole interview contradicted everything you said - how embarrassing for you and your drop kick interviewer.

I see this everywhere, and maybe I'm completely blind - how has Woods 'betrayed' WT? If it's because he's leaving for another club, then does that mean every player who leaves a club is betraying them?

Go read some of the posts on the forum. You will see no one is having a go at him for leaving per se. Its how he has conducted himself and badmouthed the club. You okay with a captain bad mouthing his club?

If nobody from the club even spoke to him for 3 weeks between Taylor being sacked & Cleary being appointed, and it wouldn't surprise me given what I've heard, then they deserve a bad mouthing.

I'm lost as to how easily people are buying into the Pascoe & Go spin. At what other club would the CEO & Chair be praised after sacking a coach three weeks into a season, one they'd backed over a club legend 6 months prior, whilst also losing the four best players in the club? We may all want to deny it, but it's true - WE ARE A BASKETCASE!

Every other club and everyone else in the game laughs at us & the way we're run. It's just embarrassing. Did you see Bulldogs fans booing Steve Price when he left in 2004?

Not that I was a Tiger before '00 but he can join the likes of Morrison & Elias

I propose a name change to the Glen Morrison dunnies to the "Dogwoods Dunnies"

Every fan remembers true front row forwards for this club. Blokes like scando who battled through good and bad times and always had the club at heart. In the end was rewarded with a premiership. Don't worry woodsy us fans remember who true Wests Tigers are and unfortunately mate your not one of them - good bye

Nah Morrison keeps the dungeon dunnies.

Woodsy can have the besser block hut at the south end.

Where did the name Glenn Morrison dunnies originate? Have heard it used a fair bit but never knew the story behind it (if any).

I.m over it, lets all just stop talking about it.

It is clear the media love it when we are eating our own, and it is also clear some players have a very high opinion of themselves and love the attention. For gods sake, which other players have left their club and then required a sit down and have a one on one with the media.

Seriously, stop talking about all this, accept it has happened, and that will pi55 both the media and Woods off and wont give them an ounce of satisfaction.

When Morrison left Balmain stating he wanted to play for a club with a future.

He left us for Norths

Nope and I didnt see Steve Price bagging out the club or his teammates either. If you're happy to support a guy who sell his mates down the river, go luck to you. Im not.

I must admit I am no league expert, but have supported the Tigers for 40+ years and have often wondered what the big fuss is about Woods. I know he has played for the Blues and Australia, but I just don't see how.

One thing I do know is that he is not a good captain, and definitely not a good public figure for the club (especially not now).

I would have thought a hell of a lot more of him if he took some ownership of this whole tawdry mess, but apparently it is everyone else's fault except his, of which I think shows very poor character.

Surely he is not that squeaky clean

Good luck but sod off I say

It is what it is…

When Woods says he wanted certainty on who the coach was long term and that he wasn't spoken to about it for 3 weeks what he is really saying is he wanted the Tigers to sign Todd Payten as head coach so that the "boys club" was still running the club!

Obviously once he knew it was Cleary taking over, that was the writing on the wall that the players were no longer going to be calling the shots and he wasn't happy with that.

Plus he'd already signed a new contract at Balmain and then dogged us. Was last seen disappearing up his own backside near the Graheme Park construction site.
