U2 are one of my favourite bands, seen them live a couple times, but their constant political angle wears thin after a while. You go to a concert to forget about whatever crap is happening in the world, not to be preached to by a pretentious Irish douchebag about the plight in Africa, when all it would take to feed, clothe and house the population of Africa would be to donate every dollar earned from half a dozen stadium gigs, which to him would be pocket change.

No arguments there , All talk no action . I had some Irish mates in Sydney that always used to try and get me out to the PJ O'Briens Pub at the Rocks . They were the biggest tight arses when it came there turn to shouting at the Bar .

Queen was the best band i saw live of course with Freddy

Seen them back in August with Adam Lambert. Thought they were fantastic. Freddie sang the majority of Bohemian Rhapsody on the big screen which was a cool moment.

Saw the Stones as well about a month ago. Unbelievable to still be that on the money and tight at 70\. Charlie Watts is 73 and still doesn't miss a beat.

:roll , i watched the Stones in 2003 and back then they said it was there last Tour Down Under :laughing: , they played in Brisbane as well . Talk about still trying to squeeze every $ from the Lemon Tree :laughing:

I seriously don't think its about money for them. They can easily retire and live the rest of their lives like kings, for them its purely for the love of the music, and at this stage of their lives, its what keeps them going. If they stopped doing what they were doing they'd probably be dead within a yr. Look at Kiss, now that's a band that has only ever cared about $$$. Its always been money first before anything else with Paul and Gene, that's what keeps them going. The Stones on the other hand are just doing what they love.

Van Halen are another one. Seen them in 2013 when they were here for the Stone fest. Was their first show outside of North America for 15 yrs and they collected 2 million dollars for a 90 minute set of which they were an hour late to. DLR put in one of the worst vocal performances i've ever witnessed, dead set embarrassing. Eddie was still awesome though, a modern day Mozart that guy.

The money is keeping them interested though IMO , Jagger said in the Concert in 2003 it was his last Tour Down Under on stage . But yeah at there age I'm sure money wouldn't be there most important factor , there swimming in $100.00 bills .
The only one that looks like his over it is Charlie Watts , that guy never changes his facial expression , hard to see him smile .

Charlie's had the same demeanor for 50 yrs. He's the backbone of that band. One of the last true jazz drummers.

I watched UB40 live 2 times what an awesome Band they were . Ali Campbell had a fall out with there Manager 7 years ago and went solo , that Band has never been the same , they put Ali's brother as lead vocals but not the same .
A bit like when INXS picked out a Lead Singer in some Singing Competition , what were they thinking ? Money motivated .

Used to be a mad Midnight Oil fan back in the day , they were a fantastic live band .
Seen Van Halen when Gary Sharone (spelling) was with them ( they were crap).
Metallica ( justice for all ) was a mad night out !
Inxs kick concert was a brilliant show ….

But believe it or not the best live gig I attended for atmosphere was seeing 'Big Pig ' at Byron Bay some 20 + years ago lol

Seen Van Halen when Gary Sharone (spelling) was with them ( they were crap).
Metallica ( justice for all ) was a mad night out !
Inxs kick concert was a brilliant show ….

But believe it or not the best live gig I attended for atmosphere was seeing 'Big Pig ' at Byron Bay some 20 + years ago lol

As for AC/DC their a classic Aussie bogan band !
Answering the age old question .. Bon Scott or Brian Johnson is like asking which of you're kids do you like best IMO !

Saw ACDC last time they were in Australia and were by far the best live band I've ever seen. Angus young got lifted up 20 foot in the air and did a solo for a solid 10 minutes. Unbelievable atmosphere.

Saw Metallica too, they were great, but not as good as ACDC. They stuffed up a few times as well.

I remember when I was about 16 seeing a band called Story Of The Year. One of my first ever concerts. Those guys were nuts on stage, full of energy. Backflips off amps. Swapping guitars between the players by literally throwing them to each other from the other side of the stage then swinging the entire guitar round their heads and continuing the song. Vocalist would go to drums for a song, drummer to guitar and guitarist would sing a song. They were awesome.

Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage are awesome live if you like your metal music too.

I was lucky enough to play with a few decent bands when I was in bands before working life took over. Taking Back Sunday, The Used, The Getaway Plan, Anberlin, Karnivool, Cog. Miss those days.

Big Pig , was Kate Ceberano in that band Hobbo ??

Massive Angels fan , Doors fan , Van Morrison ,The Pogues bit of a mixture really (yes I have some Irish bits in my system )

ZZ Top were pretty good in concert as were Dire Straits

Yeah and Bonehead moved to the Netherlands when the Irish government decreased the tax free threshold on entertainers so they could get all their money tan free.
Then come out here tell the aussie government to give more in overseas aid, payed for with our taxes.
If he donated all the money he spends on sun glasses to Africa there would be no poverty.

Killswitch Engage would have to be one of the best shows I've seen sound exactly like they do on the album. Their set was as tight as a fishes arsehole. Adam Dutkewicz is a mental patient.

Funnily enough the only other band I could say has achieved that would be Spandau Ballet. Tony Hadley still sounds the same as he did in the 80's.
