Had my surgery 19 October last year My recommended time frame for back to work (I have a job where I am on my feet all the time) 10-12 weeks . Had some pretty big complicaions with Blood clots just below the knee and a week after got a condition called Lymphedaema .
Ended up off work for about 21 weeks and took about 5-6 weeks to get back full time after that . Lymphaedema is rare with that type of surgery but blood clots are reasonably common though Make sure you follow through with the Clexane injections if they think you need them If your family has a prior history of DVT or clots let the docs know Phsyio is very important also Good luck Jais Tigez

Had one done about 10 years ago then got on the piss and wrecked the graft 6 weeks later straight back in to get it done again. All up I could not go back to work for 10 months but that was underground and I did have avulsion fractures in my ankle as well

hey king sirro the surgeons name is dr. dave. getting the op done at good old campbelltown hospital. hope thats not the guy you are referring to!

Dr Dave? He only goes by one name, must be a celebrity lol.

Hope it goes well mate. Dave isnt the butcher i know of so all should go well.

My big advice in your recovery is to listen to your knee. The physio will get you to push it a lot, and to a degree you need to do that, but from my experience, listening to your knee works best. My first opp i pushed it hard, and the physios pushed me hard….my recovery was very slow and painful. With my 2nd opp, i did my own physio (cos i knew what was allowed and what wasnt) and mate, i recovered so much quicker it wasnt funny. When i needed to rest i did, when i needed to work it i did. Stretching, ice and anti flammatory's when resting and you'll be fine.

Good luck.

Who's doing the opp mate? I know of a real butcher and i want to make sure u arnt getting it done by him.

What odds would that have been?

Slim i guess but who cares? It was still a chance it was him so i wanted to let the kid know what he was like. Its frowned upon in the medical proffession to bag a colleagues credentials, and ive heard from two in the proffession what he's really like. One said to me "this is wrong of me to say this and ill deny it if you ever say i did say it, but ive seen so many knees from this guy that are terrible. He;s a butcher".

Not sure what the point of your post is

Yes its not good when Docs make mistakes . I decided to go with a local surgeon after I initially did mine (not known at time ) he was from Sydney . As i had a young baby decided to get local guy who had moved from Sydney instead of Brisbane or Rockhampton to make it easier on wife with travel etc with 2 young kids . The plan was to go in with an open mind and make the call in their while doing arthroscope (either clean up or ACL reco). Woke up after surgery he said everything fine cleaned it up all good Forward 3.5 years See Rockhampton orthopaedic surgeon and bring scans from before previous op and recent scan Takes one look at scans from May 07 and says The ACL is completely ruptured . Turns out "ortho " specialcist surgeon was just a general surgeon back in 07 . Lesson in that Check up on surgeons even Doctors can lie
