Moore credited the arrival of new players Trent Hodkinson (Manly), Frank Pritchard (Penrith), Kris Keating and Jonathan Wright (Parramatta), Aiden Tolman (Melbourne), Michael Lett (St George Illawarra), Grant Millington (Cronulla) and Greg Eastwood (Leeds) for introducing a sense of excitement and rejuvenation throughout the club.

All this plus Blair

With the way the hush puppies and other teams e.g souths I'd have to wonder whether the salary cap is all but goneski.

Agree

The Salary cap has some serious PR issues going on

If they were paying Patten $650K per year then I am a monkeys uncle!! PLEASE!!!

He wouldn't have been on $400K

He wasn't on that much, just having a lend. TBH, I would be surprised if Patten was on more then $200k per season.

So is this crap too?

Till clubs have to openly show their books and the deals they have entered into their will be massive question marks over the cap. People are asking question about Souths and the dogs other people wonder how we can get the likes of marshall, farah, ellis, lawrence, rhino, galloway and gibbs under the cap. We need transparency so all the question marks can be put to bed. Still not fool proof but would help

I guess we will.
Forgive my skepticism, not sure if youre having a lend or ….

PS ( I fixed the quotes up  )

I can't see the Storm letting Blair go, they have lost too many of their playing roster already and News Ltd and the NRL has an interest in the team being competitive to keep the game interest in Melbourne. If he were to go they must have a useful replacement.

Yes they have lost Brett White and Aiden Tolman already. But geeze that Jesse Bromwich guys looks tough. He should be the starting prop if Blair goes for sure.

Wouldnt the NRL have an interest in all teams being competitive, not just melbourne?

Yes the NRL would have an interest in all teams being competitive and that is why Melbourne would be of interest as they have been weakened by the playing strength lost already (due to rorting of course) so to lose Blair would be a concern when combined with the playing strength already lost affecting their competitiveness in a region the NRL is trying to keep going (whether there should be a team there at all is another issue).

Having a competitive team in Melbourne is about as important as the change in control of the games ownership. Both are very important to the future of Rugby League, hence why everyone involved where so upset in the way Waldron and his sidekicks conducted themselves…

It will be important to maintain a balance in Melbourne's playing strength (under the salary cap) in order to keep them competitive, just below the playing strength of the Wests Tigers would do. As for the salary cap, it has taken a big hit as a result of the Melbourne fiasco.

Melbourne Storm are a blight on the great game of Rugby League….they should be transplanted to Lidcombe a games true hearland ...

What a JOKE!!

This is probably the first correct/constructive comment you have added to the forum for a while… Congratulations!

I for one believe the only option the NRL should of taken as a result to the level of Salary Cap Breach was to kick them out of the comp... The only stumbling block is the fact for the long term viability of RL or the NRL, we must have a franchise operating within this marketplace.

On the Blair release, I hope they remain competitive in 2011 and bring through enough youngsters to compensate his loss.

I agree that they should have been booted - but the broadcast deals required a 16 team comp - and if the Storm were ejected as they deserved the NRL would have been in breach of its broadcasting contracts and potentially liable for millions!

Thank you..but it's the second..Moltz to Halfback is the other correct/constructive comment..

We do not need the Storm in Melbourne at all….No one down there cares at all never have never will..insanity..

Victorian's turn up in droves to watch Aerial Ping Pong for crying out load

There is a solution to the Melbourne Storm rort which would not effect the TV monies 1 bit....it's transplant them to the Sunshine Coast or SE QLD...wait a sec...Broncos...Perth then...The only thing the Storm got going for them in 2011 is when the WESTS Tigers give it to them victory will be sweet..

Kick them OUT...

The only way to transplant would be Adelaide or Perth. Shrinking the TV market would only reduce contract value.

FTR the term is no longer Aerial Ping Pong but Boggerball
