I think Blair & Stewart will get 4 or 5 weeks, plus .Stewart will get a holiday as well, also number 14 from Manly will go as well & some from Melbourne. Ray Hadlee was on radio @ half time of the game & said the league would be looking @ brining in another 7 players to have a chat to & maybe a holiday.

Why does Ray Hadley feel the need to butt in while someone else is broadcasting the game like his opinion matters?

Cant see them getting that long.

Stewart and Blair shouldn't even be suspended at all. If they do it should be a week max. The players who should be suspended for 4 or 5 weeks are the spineless cowards from Manly who sprinted 40m

Spot on - what absolute dogs. I dead set wanted to punch my fist through the plasma. Arogant thugs are manly. I'd love to meet one of them in the street and go to town with em - gutless #$@.

Chris just to let you know 2GB commentate the game on a friday night so i guess Hadlee can have a say & slso this was a big game 1v2, big crowd & big t.v audience, not a good look even though an old punter like me enjoyed it. As for some one saying they shouldnt get suspended i dont think so they will both get a holiday & maybe 1 or 2 others.

There are strong similarities between the actions of Brett Stewart and those of Danny Williams in 2004\. The only difference was that Williams connected. Brett Stewart should get 12 weeks. Running 30m to be third man in with a flying swinging arm to the head of player. Thankfully, he did not connect.

His actions were the worst seen in the NRL since 2004.

Had to laugh at Stewart when Blair baited him on the way off - looked back at the refs to see if anyone was watching - he looked like a little schoolboy who was afraid he would get caught.

What I noticed was..he was taking his sweet time getting off the field, looking back to see where Blair was, ready to take a swing or something.

Disagree entirely he came in with a shoulder charge not a punch, team mates should come in and back each other up.
As I said on another thread, what Lussick did was disgraceful, punching Blair on the ground whilst 3 or 4 other blokes were laying on him.
Everyone is calling all the Manly blokes dogs, but what do you want, your players not to come in and let your mate get pummelled. None of the manly players (except Lussick) threw a punch when they came in.

Personally, I think quite a few of them, including Blair, both Stewart's and a few others should be gone for the rest of the year. Both clubs should cop half a million fine. And this is minimum.

Fair dinkum, I'm not the fun police or a party-pooper and I don't mind an odd rare brawl, but that crap last night from EVERYONE involved is a disgrace.

I'm sick of hearing about 'heated up', 'lots of emotion', 'spur of the moment' excuses. IT'S GARBAGE. Learn to control your temper. Aggression in sport and thuggery and violence in sport are different things.

No one will be able to justify in my mind what happened in that game. Simple

So you never played a body contact sport??

Wise up. It is a tough game and these things happen. Overreaction from the NRL is not what is needed. A week each for Blair and Stewart. That's it.

Brett Stewart got some karma when he done his knee after running 30 or 40 metres to "protect" his brother.

We want full teams in the finals.

PS. That was mild stuff compared to some of the Wests, Manly games of yesteryear.

Give me a break, mate. I've played both League and Union at quite high levels.

League is a very skilful, technical and beautiful game. There is no need for, or room for thuggery, stupidity and violence anymore. UFC/Cagefighting, which I enjoy immensely is more of that style. The aim of League is not to have two of your mates hold each arm while you get a free shot at some bloke. If you choose to fight like that, then you are truly a gutless gimp of the highest order.

PS: Some of the brawls back 'yesteryear' I also enjoyed, but it was part of the game back then. The game has evolved to be something more than fat pub brawlers looking for a legal way to punch-on.

And another point why wasn't Brett Stewart sent to the bin - he was the instigator of the all in brawl - i will be very disappointed if he isn't cited.

I totally agree. I couldn't believe the ref basically gave him a kiss and a cuddle because he was 'protecting his brother'. He ran in from miles away and launched himself at Blair.

It was quite an amusing few minutes. They are all as bad as each other.

Beat me to it Col…its a tough sport played by tough men. Fair dinkum those that found that a disgrace must live in a cushioned bubble of fairyfloss.

1 week each for Blair and G Stewart for continuing the blew once banished. 2 weeks each for B Stewart and Lussic for running in throwing punches in a one on one situation. That should be the end of it.

NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL.

All players should be eligible for the second week of the finals.

Not much in it.The referees made it alot worse by calling them back out after they walked off already for 10 in the bin.

As gnr4life said its the 4 manly players headed by brett stuart who should be punished.

Shoulder charge? First shoulder charge I have ever seen with a forearm. He connected with his arm, not his shoulder.

Listen to te radio & the people ringing up & complaining of some of the players actions, If a couple of Manly players get suspended you listen to there supporters about poor Manly being picked on by the league.

Yeah Ive heard a few of them whinging and whining about the knuckle.

Everyone applauds it in origin and despises it at club level?

Yeah it wasn't a good look was it, I just wonder if given the controversies surrounding these clubs and the NRL in the past whether they will go easy on the offenders.

I must say Glenn Stewart is pretty brave (or foolish) taking on Blair - he's pretty scary looking!!

I agree. I actually had no problem with Blair and Stewart finishing off what they had started. It was stupid, but in reality, the sin bin should have stood with both players on report for contrary conduct. They should not have been sent off.

The actions of those who ran 30m to join in should be given the highest punishment. In particular, Brett Stewart should be slapped with 12 weeks. It is disgraceful footage seeing him run 30m and try to king hit Blair.

Don't forget everyone laughs now at the "Fibro-Silvertail" wars and even use the images in marketing. It was not so humorous back in the late 70's early 80's and saw the careers of some players extinguished.
