Adam Doueihi #227

I was suggesting that Toa would be a better option than Olam, the way he is playing. Bar one game, he hasn't really offered much, Toa averages (to date) more metres than Olam has shown in all but his one good game. I'd also suggest Toa is a better defender.

Look… I’m not saying Olam was a guy I wanted them to sign … but he was great in his last game against the Titans …

Toa has done nothing in 40 games for the club outside one game…

Have you ever seen Toa belt anyone in defence ? we saw in the Origin game how important physicality can be in this game

just don’t get the continued love for Toa … I think he has been extremely disappointing and frustrating

No, but what I am saying is Olam, besides one good game hasn't performed up to scratch & I'd take Toa over him right now.

There's a good reason he was on the outer at Melbourne, he is for some reason no longer the weapon he once was.

Why? I don't know. Can he turn it around? Well that's the big question. He's on decent coin & should be performing better. So far he's turned out to be another Isaiah Papali'i, looked like an astute signing only to go on to underperform when in the WT jersey.

I hope it's just a temporary drop in form with him & not persistent mediocrity like Isaiah has dished up. Too many of the Tigers "marquee" signings over the years have turned into "passengers" treating the club like a transit lounge much like what used to happen to the Roosters a while back now.
Olam has been playing on one leg for last 2 months.

Just to add my 2 cents
Olam is a hole runner who can also put his winger away. My preferred dynamics for a centre
Toa best attribute is beating defender one on one and would prefer to step through a hole instead of hitting it direct.
For these reasons I think he is better suited to wing where he can get more chances of returning it against generally a staggered defensive line
I agree that he is that type of player but we have more options at wing than centre at the moment.

Agree. He is a hogg as well so better suited to the wing.

Olam knees are shot, he constantly has the fluid drained from the joint plus has PRP injections to help him get through the riggers of playing NRL
This all points to no cartliage in the knee joint, I would say that’s why Melbourne were happy to move him on.

Hang on .. we just signed Olam for three years right? Plus we gave up Blore

Bellamy didn’t take Richo and Benji to school did he ?

Hope he is at least kicking in 250k a year for the three years

Spot on but what will happen next week, same thing. And AD you missed a few tackles yourself. But money will go into everyone’s bank account irrespective.
No real accountability, lack of back up and certainly lack of coaching in the absolute fundamentals of the game.
But couldn’t expect a solid D from a guy like Benji, terrible tackler and never worked to a system in his entire career.
All spontaneity which is wonderful but very few can achieve it.

One of the worst defensive players I have seen. Liability! Depth player at best.

Douehi's poor defence reads or maybe even lack of ticker led to the Sharks first two tries. Benji's decision to leave a clearly injured and badly outmatched Lobb on the field led to three or four more tries.

It seems the wheels fell off after the Refs "crowd penalty" & sin bining of Api. That's the 2nd time he and the team dudded with him being binned.

If Annersley called the previous binning wrong, he should have quite a bit to say about the one Fri night, and he better demote Ref Andrew Gee next round, the guys ego has gotten too big.
