Adam Doueihi #227

haha thats a funny little dig from doogs.
If he keeps putting in like he did v Raiders and improves his lateral defence, his next contract will be heavy.

He's really only had one great game since donning the Tigers jersey, indeed he may find himself overlooked unless he ups his game especially when Starford Toa is fit to play.
Not sure about that. I think To’a may have reached a ceiling? At their best, I still think AD offers much more than Starford

I was suggesting that Toa would be a better option than Olam, the way he is playing. Bar one game, he hasn't really offered much, Toa averages (to date) more metres than Olam has shown in all but his one good game. I'd also suggest Toa is a better defender.

Toa would be a great option.. but sorry to the beater of bad news.. he ain't coming... next
What do you mean he ain't coming? I'm talking about Starford Toa. Unless you know something the rest of us don't know?

Starford virtually single handedly tore the Cowboys to shreds last season at Leichhardt and has proven himself to be an elusive runner able to break tackles & his defence is above par.

Sorry brother. My bad. Back to reality. Toa. I've seen more good in that kid on the weekend on the wing in 1 game than Toa. What did Toa do after that Cowboys game? Nadda!

However. He did look okay in his time this year. Toa. All 10 mins.

We all know something that others don't. I agree with that. Whether is useful or useless is a different story.

So basically are you saying that Toa is the man to save us?

No, but what I am saying is Olam, besides one good game hasn't performed up to scratch & I'd take Toa over him right now.

There's a good reason he was on the outer at Melbourne, he is for some reason no longer the weapon he once was.

Why? I don't know. Can he turn it around? Well that's the big question. He's on decent coin & should be performing better. So far he's turned out to be another Isaiah Papali'i, looked like an astute signing only to go on to underperform when in the WT jersey.

I hope it's just a temporary drop in form with him & not persistent mediocrity like Isaiah has dished up. Too many of the Tigers "marquee" signings over the years have turned into "passengers" treating the club like a transit lounge much like what used to happen to the Roosters a while back now.

That kid DID go great I agree, both debutants had great games & are definitely worth tying up for as long as we can!!

I'm so over our juniors or other young blokes we have developed moving on to "kill it" at other clubs, though I must admit I didn't see Mitchell Moses turning out like he did. I thought he was an overrated & mistake ridden defensive liability when he was with us.

One good game in his career with us.
The rest?
Mundane.

That line gets trotted out a lot in regards to Toa and it simply isn't true.

His game against the Cowboys was at such a level that all his other decent to good performances seem to have become below average in people's minds. Strange mindset many have.

Toa has had many good games for a centre. Games where he makes his tackles and carries the ball well. Throw in a line break and try here and there on top of that and that's considered a good centres game.

Yes he has many games that are below average to poor, not questioning that, but to say his only good game was that Cowboys game is wrong and narrow minded.

Just to add my 2 cents
Olam is a hole runner who can also put his winger away. My preferred dynamics for a centre
Toa best attribute is beating defender one on one and would prefer to step through a hole instead of hitting it direct.
For these reasons I think he is better suited to wing where he can get more chances of returning it against generally a staggered defensive line
