I mentioned this kid on here during the world cup when he was playing in the centres for Lebanon, he was a standout.

Yessir

Not hard to stand out in the Lebanon side ? Farah & Moses the other stand outs!

Remarkably Moses consistently stood out for all the right reasons in that World Cup - Fittler got something right with him or was it playing for his own country 3 generations back. Whereas Farah's form doesn't change much, that's why I consider him the true professional. Wayne Pearce was another.

X2
On field Farah is the ultimate professional.
And as a fans perspective, having met him a few times… Off field too.

However behind closed doors and with JT and such idk. I like him tho.

Anyway general thoughts:

Marsters, Suaalii, Hawkins all training in the rehab group. Did little on field and were off after about 30. Apparently Suaalii hurt his hammy last week. Cody trained normally but with rehab vest.
one of the new trainers is Irish and the kid in me found it entertaining hearing him barking drills
forward specific stuff I thought Knight and Kolomatangi were the standouts. Serious power and athleticism the both of them.
I thought Burns, Gagai and Goodwin led most of the backs stuff
Latrell way behind the pack as expected I guess but he’s got some serious work to do these next 2 months. I’d say he ran last on just about every drill.
Found it interesting the two under most media attention right now in AJ and Doueihi probably looked the most sluggish all in all and off body language wise.
Overall mostly a cardio based session so not much ball work or skill stuff. They all got a good flogging.

Interested to hear from those who’ve attended more regularly this how they found the talk/banter from the guys? Years gone past you felt like you were basically part of the team Sam/Sutto/GI were so vocal. Quiet as a mouse today and the loudest was probably GI in the huddles.

Thought Knight and Lowe were probably the most vocal otherwise. Someone like Patrick Mago was lengths behind in every drill looked like he was going to blow, Sam would’ve been the type to get along side him etc.
Little things like that.

Left after 1.5hr or so as the forwards were doing goal line defence and backs kick & catch

From Bully off the Warren

**Both he and AJ at Souths training today according to that bloke.**

The good thing is he seems to have recovered from an ACL reconstruction and won Souths Rookie of the Year award .....600 k though .....pretty rich maybe

The problem is what is his best position 1 or 6

That’s not a problem. We need a 1 now and a 6 next year. He can trial for both!

I am not sure he is asking 600 large - more the back ended contract thing where Souths low balled him in the first two years and now they have Latrelle, are happy to move the 600K liability on. I reckon his average over the term of his last contract was 300-350 per year. I think he is worth about 450 now.

But if utility is his biggest asset we shouldn't sign him , if we sign him at 1 he should stay at 1 unless we sign a top fullback

And then well maybe he starts getting close to his worth at around 500 k

I quite like him as a player but we really need specialists and i am not 100% sure he is one.He certainly is a good footballer and would make a decent 6 or 1 (in that order) imo

He is possibly a better 1 than 6.
In the old days a 6 was usually a pocket rocket and would often get graded on the wing.

I was getting excited about this guy till I saw that his Manager was Sam Ayoub...

Next.

Who does a player need as a manager for it to be acceptable?

Personally I believe BJ is a must in the centres but I don’t see Doueihi as the missing link for us, he’s solid but not a speedster - yes, I too wish Cory Thompson was another foot taller at least but Corey is dynamic off the mark, always chiming into the backline and already has the combinations with Brooks and Garner. I believe we should run with Corey Thompson and wait until something special emerges for fullback - Thompson is equally adept on the wing when that emerges.

Coaches are looking for players they can train. That’s gotta be worth a slight loading?

We need a whole team of Corey Thompsons. Enthusiastic, resilient, team player.

King Demps killin the game

Great take by you in 2018. I had no idea who the guy was back then.

Not to brag or nothing but i do have an eye for talent in most things from sport to music.

I had Taupau and Naiqama bench marked for greatness and then a year later we signed both.

Just sayin.

Massive tick for Taupau.... not so much for Kevin.

Kevin is a legend.
Money ball signing.

Good output to cost value.
