I honestly don’t get the love for Doueihi at fullback. He as slow as a wet week, and his positional play at fullback is terrible. With the two tries from kicks Cronulla scored today he was nowhere to be seen. He doesn’t seem to be a typical supporting playing fullback either.
I can’t see him as fullback in a premiership winning team.
What am I missing? Can someone enlighten me in what they see in him please.
Don't agree. Both the Cronulla tries off kicks were down our right side. Doueihi was nowhere to be seen because that isn't his territory. If you're going to blame someone for those tries look at Nofoaluma.
Disagree. Cronulla's kicking game was smart in that they were going a couple of passes wide before the kick which (along with BJ constantly racing up at no-one) drew Nofa up opening space behind him. He can't be up in the line & back covering kicks, it is the fullback's role to get across in cover for those sort of kicks, which he did well once when taking the ball into touch from a dangerous kick.
Thank you ...saved Typing...
Dugan's 1st TRY came from a very smart kick by Graham not on tackle 5 the edge was defending as the should in a line..Leilua rushed up and Nofoaluma went with him...this made it easy for Graham but it was still a great play..very hard to defend as Doueihi was in feild from the previous play
The second came on the 5th Tackle which Cronulla started their attack on the right...Nofoaluma dropped back like every single winger in the NRL does to get in position to defend a kick on the last..they ran it..Leilua... Dugan's man went up and took no one..leaving Marshall and Nofoaluma to attempt to stop him..they couldn't..
I'm all for criticising Nofoaluma (see Knights game) but it gets frustrating when a team scores a TRY down that side and it's a simple out to heap all the blame on Nofoaluma..
Doueihi warmed into the game ..more game time they get together the better they'll get..
