He's an interesting player because he's easily our best under the high ball, and has made plenty of kick return metres, but lacks the outright speed to be a constant threat at fullback. His build and running style is more suited to the centres but I think he could make a go of it at 6.

It's obvious that Reynolds is on the outer and with Benji gone next year, there's an opportunity for Doueihi at 6 - I think we have enough centres on the books that we'll see him at 6 next season.

I believe the club's plan is for him to play 5/8th but I dont think he and Brooks will be a good combo. Madden and Duoeihi may work but then we are back to 2 inexperience players playing in the halves and I don't like that either.


what's your suggestion based off current roster? Mbye?

That is a really difficult question, I honestly believe we need an upgrade in the halves for next season but if I had to go with a combo that is already here I would trialling Madden at half, Brooks at 5/8th Doueihi in the centres and Mbye at fullback. I do have concerns with Mbye under the high ball though so he would be catching bombs everyday over the off-season.

Interesting if we secure Addo-Carr as a fullback:

No room for the skipper!!

If we secure JAC, for the start of the year I think we may see:

1- JAC
2- Nofa

Better than our forward pack imo, esp minus Grant. Unless we sign someone.

Mbyes best spot has always been utility, including Bulldogs days. He is probably the best bench utility in the game.

Still prefer to off load him for the $ he on does not add much value, Played better at fullback last night with kicking game but still suss under the high ball, pass mark last night.

If Madge does retain him need to ensure is not Captain and maybe a good bench utility player.

AD should remain at centre, took Madge a long time to work out that's a better position for him than fullback?????

I have tried that in games when I was younger and at times can get a little hard to switch but the idea has merit. I'd prefer just to punish Mbye with bomb practice over the off season to improve is ability under the high ball.

They have been interchanging a lot the past few weeks, it gets hard to do it between attack and defence.

Ive noticed he has gone from being incredibly bog average to average standard NRL level this week. Last week he played a great 30 mins in the first half then played like a busted for the remaining 50 mins and was directly responsible for points against us on at least 2 occasions. That pass before half-time, my lord, under 8s stuff. Unforgivable.

So no, not the last few weeks, just this week. He had a good game as centre where he didnt need to touch the ball as much as he does at fullback. Centre at this stage appears to be it.

Maybe still too green to be in the middle of the park but given he played 5/8 coming through the grades if he can find the right attitude in defence then a big ball playing 13 would add another dimension to our attack. That way you can fit more speed into the outside backs

Your lock pretty much has to be the most reliable defender in your team though. That ain't Talau.

I disagree. Way more dangerous than our current backline and plenty of upside in most of them.

Craig Wing made a career out of that exact thing. It's nothing to be ashamed of.
Mitch Aubussen is in the same boat.

Yeah he certainly looks too immature to take that responsibility. I hear people talk of him as a 6 though and I struggle to see that and he doesn’t have the pace to make a career in the outside backs.

^ was wondering the same thing re: Doueihi as a goal kicker.
More than the performance which was pretty exceptional.
What motivated the change?
Why was Doueihi 1st choice kicker last night?
A role that you would think a whole off season required to perfect and within a week they make a change and Doueihi hits them like he was kicking all year.
Anyone got any info regarding this?
