Crikey as if this season couldn't get any worse!

We’re talking next season

That is what makes this worse. Our best player is potentially out all pre-season and maybe some games into next season.

Daine Laurie is our best player and then Stefano and Alex (both of them) Cini and Tuilagi and Liddle and Jake Simpkins are all a solid base and Jock Madden is a star in waiting, bring in Hoffman and kiah cooper and William kei and Pauga and Amone and the club isatarting to look good,,,, all we need is a coach that can bring out their natural talent and get them to start playing footy… bring on Shane Flanagan

Reserve grade team?

Ha ha ? you and I can just agree to disagree on Flanagan, plenty of other things to agree on but we will never agree on Shane it seems. ?

I'm not @cochise lol

I don't have a stance against Flanagan.
His voice doesn't strike me as one that would inspire players though.

Flanagan would almost be as bad as moving us to QLD.

I’d be definitely picking up Ash Taylor now. Hastings is an unknown quantity and if he doesn’t work out we’re stuffed.

I'm starting to think having a dominant alpha male type player like Hastings could help tilt the scales. IMO he only needs to show he's team driven or goal oriented to be deemed a succesful recruit for the team.
It's nothing against Ash but coming to a club like ours just might not be the best option for him (to get back to his best footy).

That's terrible news for Adam. All the best in recovery.

You might be right, he’s definitely a competitor, I just don’t know how he’ll adjust to NRL and I think Taylor might be sensible as a contingency. Putting all our eggs in Hastings/Brook is pretty risky IMO. AD is a huge loss

It's unfortunate for him as he's really stood out this year.

Agree we need to adequately fill Mbye's and Walters' spots.
Don't know what to think - in terms of what's best for the direction of the team anymore, but when our own fanbase are identifying them and perceiving their value in the competition at its lowest position, enough is enough.
The one thing that frustrates me is that until every single member of the organisation (players, coaches, management) are more focused or aligned in achieving our vision/goals, we pretty much stay stagnant.

Is there a list of off contract players on the forum?
I wouldn't have minded a Connor Watson or Chanel Harris Tevita type tbh but seeing as Watson went back to the Roosters and I don't know who else is actually available, maybe Taylor is the only realistic option at this point.

I saw a little old lady run fast to stop her shopping trolley from rolling away at woolies the other day, I think we could sign her up to adequately cover for Mbye next year! ??

Do you think she would be willing to sign with us for 800K or do you think the Dogs will get her?

dunno about Cini, Cooper, Kei and Pauga. all have their reasons for why they won't cut it, mainly around defence and actually providing impact. would much rather Jordan Hill, Israel Ogden and AJ Kepaoa in our backline going forward.

Since the club sent Adam back to NSW he could be waiting months to get his surgery... why they didn't get it done in Queensland is baffling.

His specialist who did his 1st is in Sydney..Dr Parker

Don't see why they need the exact same doctor, if he can't get it done for another month or more it's awful for the club. Pretty negligent if they can't get it sorted soon, fingers crossed

Must be sending him back for warranty.

My dog snapped his ACL.

The vet operated and he was back to normal in around 4 weeks.

Can we get Adam operated on by a vet instead.

CCL. Dogs don’t have ACL’s

Are you a vet ?

No but my dog did her ‘ACL’ and I had a chat to the vet about it and he explained the differences.
It’s a cranial cruciate ligament. From memory it is the PCL and ACL combined.
My dog came back 4 weeks as well, though needs a steroid booster when required going forwards.

Can your dog play 5/8?

the news of Doueihi out for 9 months, coupled with the worst recruitment drive in history has convinced me we are specials for the spoon. can anyone prove me otherwise? feeling rather down at the moment.

2 reco in 3 and a bit seasons on the same leg is very concerning

One word ...Moltzen .....

Hope he gets back asap fit and fighting hard

So where will AD play next year - considering he'll be coming in mid season without a preseason?

A - 5/8
B - centre
C - lock
D - fullback
E - 14

?

There is no us if we move to Queensland.

Season Snapshot: Adam Doueihi
Author - Michael Blok
Timestamp - Fri 1 Oct 2021, 10:22 AM

Although his 2021 campaign ended with a heartbreaking ACL injury, Adam Doueihi had arguably the best individual season of his young career.

Playing 20 games across the season — 14 at five-eighth and six in the centres — the local junior recorded a personal best nine tries and 69 goals, totalling 174 points.

Doueihi also ran for an average 105 metres a game and recorded 309 tackles (avg. 15.5) with an efficiency rate of 83.3 percent, as well as recording nine line-breaks, 52 tackle-breaks, 22 offloads and 17 try assists.

After missing the opening round against Canberra due to suspension, Doueihi made the transition to five-eighth to partner Luke Brooks in the halves — a position the Lebanon international excelled in.

Although he was finding his feet with the number six jersey on his back, the playmaker was shifted into the centres in Round 10 against the Knights, as coach Michael Maguire thought it was best for the team.

Instead of kicking stones over a positional move, Doueihi produced one of his best performances to date as he scored two tries and kicked six goals, to go with 152 running metres, three tackle-breaks, one line-break and a try assist.

He played six consecutive games in the centres before shifting back into the halves for his final six games of the season.

His stellar campaign came to an end in Round 23 against Cronulla as he suffered an ACL injury, which will rule him out of the start of the 2022 season — however he is recovering well following surgery.

Not only did Doueihi on the field, but he also was nominated for the NRL’s Ken Stephens Medal for his community work.

Doueihi was nominated for the prestigious award, which recognises the efforts of an NRL player who has not only achieved on the field, but also committed time off it to community projects.

The 22-year-old has been nominated by Wests Tigers for going above and beyond in his involvement in community work — consistently demonstrating a commitment to making a difference in his community and the club.

STAT ATTACK
Appearances — 20

Goals — 69 (79.3%)

Line-breaks — 9

Tackle breaks — 52

Try assists — 17

Offloads — 22

Running metres — 2113 (avg. 105)

Tackles made — 309 (avg. 15.5)

NRL Fantasy points — 1102 (avg. 55.1)

BEST TRY
Doueihi loved taking on the line in 2021 — and with speed, size and a slick step, he found the line nine times across the season.

WHAT WAS SAID
I guess I’m pretty versatile and Madge [coach Michael Maguire] saw me in the centres as a good option. I enjoy playing at five-eighth, but I’ll do whatever is best for the best. The team always comes first.

Adam Doueihi

2022 FORECAST
Doueihi will spend the off-season in rehab as he recovers from an ACL injury, suffered late in the season.

The playmaker will be hoping to return sooner, rather than later, and the number six jersey is set to be his once he's ready to roll.
