Adam Doueihi #227

The POM's advice yesterday to watch who the captain(s) are or "leadership group" will give a good indication of where Doueihi stands is spot on.

Who are you backing ?

Moses should be the captain at his new club, be it us or the Dogs.

Our other options are Api & Joffa.
Luke Brooks, maybe however I wouldn't give him that pressure.

I'd be happy with any of these players as captain -

Ofahengaue - is a great on-field leader and well spoken off field

Papali'i' - he has a great presence on or off the field.

Bateman - tough Northern UK competitior.

sure he wanted madge gone more than likely
Reality is Brokks is here Hastings is not, Newcastle number 7 jerseys that way.
For 2023 he is the best option at 7 for Tigers, 2024 hopefully we get Moses.
Douhie is not the answer at 6 in 2024 for the club, not saying he may not be the answer at centre or lock but he has an issue with defence. Long term 2024 Brooks is the answer at 6 for the Tigers.

So that makes it okay to tank a game? Interesting…
He’s not the best option, he’s the only option. There’s a pretty clear distinction between the two but I wouldn’t expect you or the rest of the cult to understand that.
You mean the Douhie who has easily outplayed your family friend every time he’s been healthy (including in the halves)?
I get you want to defend you friend but your delusion regarding Brooks abilities is not of this world.

Surely we've learnt not to give the captaincy to any player in his first season with the club.

The only option is Joe O.

While I hear what people are saying in relation to AD coming back from an ACL injury, and I agree that he needs time to get to back to his best, his ACL injury does has nothing to do with him fading in and out of games, his average passing game or his limited kicking ability.

If he wants to be the 5/8 these are issues he has to overcome otherwise he is a good as gone. I'm looking forward to him having some competition form Laurie - I think he could be a surprise packet.

For his sake I hope he has it in him to address his shortfalls this offseason. If not I would not be surprised to see him elsewhere in the starting lineup. Somewhere his limitations aren't so exposed.

The ball is in his court.

Cheers n Beers

I think someone coming back from a serious injury like that he should be afforded time to return to his best.

I'm not sold on this. He looked lost out there heaps of times. Even that time against the Cowboys where he offloaded I think to Laurie and the To'a scored he had a shocking game.

I just think the Tigers need consistent players. We've been such duds for years we can't rely on guys that play one or two good halves of footy every couple of weeks.

Sure no worries
AD Linebreaks 2021: 0.5 per game
Brooks 2021: 0.3 per game

AD 2020: 0.3
Brooks 2020: 0.2

AD 2022: 0.3
Brooks 2022: 0.2

Well would you look at that lol

My take is the argument about who is better between Brooks and Doueihi is over. I think the question is more about where do you play Doueihi and how much is he worth ?

Next season to me it's a no brainer in that you play him at 6. Then we reassess what happens. The problem is that he is after too much money and if he plays well he might just leave the following season.

I've said this before & I'll say it again. If AD is demanding that sort of money (pure speculation) than he can leave I couldn't care less. But it's quite clear he's a better 5/8 than Brooks & Brooks is not a good halfback either... over the years we've seen so many changes just to accomodate Brooks & yet he's always the one being spared the blame which bemuses me. Someone here keeps bringing up that he won a Dally M when he won it 4 seasons ago & has done nothing since whilst being the highest paid player at the club.

The only thing Brooks does better than AD is defend, but do you sign up a half to defend or attack? It's quite clear who the better attacker out of the two is. Oh wait sorry... Brooks has speed !!!!

I your opinion, Again if Sheens and Marshall wanted to get rid of Brooks they would have, fact is they have not.
Brooks behind this pack of forwards and Sheens as coach will do very well
Yes I mean the Douhie who as yet is not signed for 2024 currently
Yes Brooks is not signed either for 2024 and may not be either, so again we will wait and see. Do think a restructured Brooks deal will happen and he will finish as a one club player

I know you hate the fact he won a Dally M halfback of the year but ignoring the fact he has previously doesn't change the fact he has won it..
