OFFICIAL Adam Doueihi #227

I'm of the belief AD > Brooks. Still.

AD is off this year, inexcusable.
Needs to find form in NSW cup.

Brooks is incapable of finding form and should be shown the door as soon as possible.

What's the worst outcome?

A) 2023, wooden spoon

B) 2023, wooden spoon - but have Brooks' 1m salary available to spend elsewhere ?
They're not mutually exclusive mate.

They both need to go. Big mistake extending Doueihi as well. Only the Wests Tigers would extend sub-par halves.

Doueihi was diabolical yesterday. He ought to earn himself a spell in state cup for that effort. Absolutely zero effort in defence. Has someone told him that social distancing is not required any more?
Finally someone who sees the light. AD is a terrible 5/8. He either plays centre or second row, if he learns to tackle. For the first time in years, I watched the channel 9 coverage. Joey asked Fittler where he felt AD should play, because the halves combination is not working. Fittler said he always felt he was a centre. Somebody else has seen the light. Brooks is not great but dont let that imbecile outside him off the hook.

Are you serious ? One of the slowest players in the team playing on the wing. He needs to be dropped and work on his game.

Anyone who continues to pick the guy including Sheens is doing the guy a massive disservice. He needs someone to be honest with him about his ability and where his career is heading.
We've said the same about Brooks... for years.

😂😂
This is the Tigers mate

They stay loyal to the duds.

5th minute - first try to Kikau. They have us 4 on 3 but our spacing is good enough to cover it. Doueihi doesn't set his feet, runs past him then throws out a lazy arm. I mean this is just basic stuff that a first grader should know.

14th minute - intercept to Alamoti then JAC scores. He plays way too late, doesn't realise his error then passes anyway. We didn't have numbers so he needed to give his centre early ball or run it himself.

29th minute - Alamoti catches Doueihi's bomb and runs away, JAC scores. Not really AD's fault, Blore and Pole are a little lazy on the chase, assuming that Bateman would get him.

55th minute - Burton try. AD is at fullback now. They get a fast PTB, leaving a marker behind, and Blore fails to cover the space. Doueihi is one-on-one with Burton and misses him clean. If he just makes a small amount of contact, Bateman was there to clean it up. Laurie would have made the tackle clean.

Just on the Burton try, Klemmer was the main man at fault for me. If you watch the 3 tackles leading up to it, Klemmer sits behind the ruck having a bludge, when Joffa can't get up quick enough to be in the line, Klemmer doesn't react and spends a 3rd tackle having a rest behind the ruck. Blore missed the tackle, but it would have been an amazing tackle under the circumstances he was in. Klemmer just had to push across into the space.

Its these lack of efforts off the ball that cost us every year.

Scored a great try against the Titans.- he can play but has got weaknesses like most of them - and his form at 5/8th as a combo with Brooks at 7 is not working for the team.

Sheens or Benji as much to blame for that attacking structure especially since they talked it up preseason. Looks like they have never played together in their lives.
How long they are prepared to persist is hard to read given depth and lack there of and length of time others have had to improve their performances without much growth but are still there.

Cannot believe Douhie and Brooks had a whole preseason together. Yes Brooks had a couple of weeks off but they looked like a local half pairing that rocked up for that day. How can the coaching staff not see it earlier? 0-3 against the worst teams and now they are changing the team. Talk about amateur hour.

I know you love AD but he has been totally off for what 12 of his last 14 games, totally off is his issue. It’s not even a minor off either. It’s not just this year. He just doesn’t come across to being able to concentrate and be able to handle the speed of the game which makes him look lazy.

He does make some effort plays, big chases etc but the difference is he is costing us big time on the scoreboard directly with really simple rookie basic mistakes.

It’s one thing to not create an opportunity but he is currently a certain try minimum a game liability.

This year is worse than last year because he has no excuse of coming back from a major injury & got what he wanted which was 1st crack at 5/8th. He also got an extension. It’s bizarre how things worked out.

Re Brooks if he was released we don’t get $1m or close back this year he has already been paid a portion and a chunk is offset payments from years prior. We backloaded his contract before rules changed. Next year he wouldn’t be getting $1m or close to it regardless.

Right now both should be shipped off & replaced with some kids who want to have a crack. At worst we gain on the cap & still lose at best we gain on the cap and win more often.

No arguments from me brother MT

Love Tupou's work in the Brooks' try, thoroughly enjoyed watching big Naden sprint away for a try and also break the tackle for the Pole try, enjoyed Pole backing up and the interchange of passes between Wakeham and Brooks on the left side. Charlie Stains at full flight under the posts was great to watch. The combination with Koroisau will come, he is a fine leader. Bateman had a great game in the heat and extra mention for Kepaoa, who keeps performing.
Wonder what Twal was thinking when Pole scores.

Ad isn't a 6, but neither is Brooks.
You can't just say Brooks can be a running 6 if you're playing left and right. Brooks has zero vision or football instincts.
The only way Brooks is a 6 is if we go back to the 70's with the 6 outside the half and an inside and outside centre. That won't happen so I really don't know where he fits in unless they could turn him into a fullback.
He just doesn't have the skillset for 6 or 7.
AD is either a fullback or a winger.

defensive positioning will have to be on point because he wont be able to get across intime if he does a misread.. we may start leaking alot more points if thats the case

it is worse. People don't remember the last time he was fullback, I geniunely would rather Laurie back there instead of AD. Ultimately it should be staines though
Yeah, unfortunately it sounds like Sheenius is keen on Doueihi at fullback.

Don't know what the old bloke is seeing because I certainly can't see it and thought that Staines was going pretty well at the back.

How the hell is Doueihi going to organize our defence from out the back when he hasn't got a clue how to defend himself to start with.

Have to say, what sort of training do these guys do? Do they honestly look at Doueihi and Brooks in the halves and think, awesome, look at these attacking plays! Can’t wait for the next game!

I think they were genuine when they said before the season started that they were putting together plays that had never been seen before. Got that right..
