Adam Doueihi #227

get rid of the mug...

Reporter..."would you like to stay here?'
Doueihi " we'll see what happens".
Reporter..."would you like to be given the chance to repay them?"
Doueihi ''we'll see what happens".

To me that sounds like he wont be here and he knows it ,
hence why he went out and joined the Isuuk Mushrooms stable.

He really hasnt done nothing special these last couple of years anyway , and now that
its contract year he's pulled up his socks and shown a little to get a contract.
Might be a case of too little too late.

We have all heard the saying “Not enough mirrors in the dressing room”.
When we had Galvin , Douehi and Luai all in the same team, that might have been the case.

Drop him.

Didn’t seem happy in the interview today. Would really like to see him nail the lock spot. I’ve thought he could do well there for a long time. Big body and straightens the attack. Question mark has always been if he can handle the defence and hogging the ball, but he’s really improved that aspect of his game this year. Gives us an extra kicking option and his bombs have been effective in the past.

He’s a competitor and has a bit of an ego about him, but he really stepped up our attack on the weekend.

I’d like to see him retained. Has a lot of utility value, just needs consistency.

It can’t be ignored that for all of the players who love Benji, there’s nearly an equal amount that seem to not want a bar of him. AD is no loss, but you can seemingly add him to the pile.

Agree with those who’ve picked up on ADs interview. He wasn’t too happy and seemed to know more about his future than he let on. The mere fact he’s engaged Moses says to me that he’s looking elsewhere. I don’t expect him to be here next year.
As much as he offers something in attack at 13, i can’t see him being reliable in D over 80 mins in the middle.

Agree, a player signs with IM, then he’s going to a new club. That’s the way it works.

I think he mentioned “you’ll have to talk to The big boss Richo about that” or words to that affect when first asked about his future.
My impression is that he wants to stay - for the right price. I took away that he felt he was being lowballed in relation to what he believes is his rightful value and is genuinely annoyed.
If he nails the 13 spot over the coming weeks, I’d be happy for him to stay and be a mid tier player for us in terms of contract value.

imo he does care about the club but has no consistency on the field.
His biggest issue for me is he seldom has any urgency to chase
Reminds me of someone I used to work with “it’s not my job to clean up “ so would prefer to walk through crap

No mirrors required at all on the forwards side of the dressing room! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Id say hes out.
Didnt look happy
I think that's just his demeanor in general.. he is stone faced and doesn't give away much, never has..
He referenced that they should ask Richo about the contract... Which might come back to what he's asking vs what he's worth.

Id pay him 400k a year if he wants it.. he's still young and versatile.. a level head.

Let’s see if he can make a fist of the 13 first ..

I hope he get a 2 year deal , he has been one of our best over the season so far and has played multiple positions , he is handy to have
Apparently douhei hasn't signed with moses

Lebanese connection, same with Mitch Moses, I remember when he and Douehi were training together in the off season.
Douehi best mate at the club, Alex Twal, another Lebanese connection. All wrapped up together.

I’ve listened to the interview today , and it listens like someone who loves the club , and has been told that they don’t have a future at the moment . My guess is the 13 move is a last ditch move to try and find AD a position , as Benji probably values him , and is looking to prove AD is valuable . My guess is , based on the body language ( I know — where’s the body language doctor) that AD has been offered a below par contract / no contract at all , and is contemptuous about it . Fair enough ! He’s also been given an opportunity , one that IMO if he’d had shown any even remotely glimmer of desire for the tough stuff prior to this season , he would and probably should have been given years ago — move to lock .
He needs to work hard in defence , use his shoulders , control the line speed with Api , and really dig into the line with his carries .
If he can do that when we run shape his mere presence will cause hesitation in the defence , and open opportunities for himself or someone further down the line .
If the defence continues to slide off him , he will score a whole bunch of tries untouched under the posts .
The real thing is how far he will dig into the line , taking a shot 9 times out of 10 . IMO , with his body shape and size , and skill he could be elite at 13. I’ve said it for years . The desire to hurt and be hurt are the real question marks . As we all know ..

I think this move has been on the cards for sometime but has been manifested by the change AD has on the attack when he’s around the ball. He knows how to attack the defensive line and set up those outside him ( on both sides).
Luai is more sideways and can stifle an attack but I think having AD playing like a Yeoh link will help the attack.
Just have to wait and see but I’m hopeful!

Goal kicking excepted. WT just dont have many options at goal kick- Api cannot be relied on. Nor do we have much in the way of tactical kickers.

To me he's just a guy that smart enough than to feed the media tid bits which they take out of context...

Now you've taken it in the context that he hates the club .

He also hasn't joined Isaac Moses according to the recently article
