Exactly. Everyone wants 30 players of all NRL star quality. Madden wasn’t signed to play 100% of games and be a match breaker. He is here for squad depth which based on previous history our halves and hooker do have challenges playing out a season. Also having a half of his quality in reggies isn’t a bad thing it should make us more competitive which plays apart in developing a winning culture.

Yes.
He ...along with (last year) the Nadens and Staines will also help.the young huys coming up the grades and just cracking reggies...learning to play against men.
Reggies needs to be a blend of developing players and expreirnced depth guys
 
I'm backing Doueihi all the way, he has all the attributes to being a very good halfback. Also, plenty of experience and drive because of what challenges he's had to face.

Him and Luai could become a great pairing, they have plenty of knowledge and experience and balance each others games.

Latu can hopefully develop but I don't thinks he's ready just yet.

Lets hope the forwards can dominate, an obvious key to success.

Douehi looks like he will get the first opportunity as our first choice 7 and Madden will start as our 4th choice halve.
For the first time in memory we have 4 halves fighting for an an NRL starting spot depending on their form, which is not a bad thing.
If Madden is highly dominant in NSW Cup and our NRL halves are struggling or injured he will get his opportunity, however if he is not highly dominant in NSW Cup he might not get any NRL game time.
Sounds like a win win to me.

It would be interesting if Madden has been doing some training at hooker.

We were up 28-18 and then we lost our halfback who was our backup halfback. Of course we were disorganised we lost our halfback

We really need 1x halfback and that person gets control of the team.

5/8 is a position that can roam. Only a few 5/8's have really directed teams, Terry Lamb comes to mind.

I wouldn't mind it if Luai were to grab the team by the balls and say "Boom I am halfback", he can play the position. Otherwise I really think AD is the only other person who shows the ownership.

Fainu doesn't, Madden also is a half but not your "batman".

Did we lose a centre that game? Or have a fill in? I know we definitely had someone shift to the centres when we had 18 put on us in 5 mins by the cowboys at Leichardt that day. It seems to be when a centre or one in from them go down, we have been royally screwed..

Latu came off injured in both games. Mason replaced him and yeah….
