Missed tackle stats mean nothing to me. They targeted Mason as soon as he got on the field just like the Cowboys did.
If you're saying we have a depth issue, then I agree. however, I can't accept that Latu wins the game for us if he plays without injury for the full 80. He had 57min to do that.
Did Mason get a run in the Cowboys game? Hard to target a player when he's sitting on the bench?

Yeah that’s where I was going with it, Latu came off injured for both games wasn’t making excuses for the losing

Have to disagree with you here.
He was basically at double digits missed tackles, that isn't good enough for NRL
If you are purely going of stats, Api misses more tackles than anybody.
Stats are a guide but do not tell the full story.
In regards to Heath Mason, he no doubt needs to work hard on his lateral defence, but he is a very strong front on defender.
That and many other parts of his game make me think he could make a very good positional change to hooker if he puts his mind to it and embraces it.
While on the topic of missed tackles, there are certain players who hide and don’t even attempt to make a tackle at times, that’s far worse than an attempted missed tackle.
