His defence is what limits where you can put him.

Bulk up and heavy defence training program and you could have him lock or on an edge.

Sam has expressed his desire to play in the middle...would be loathe to move Sam though...he is elite.

I think this discussion needs to be had with him. Probably prolongs his career. You sit him down and ask him realistically how he has rated his own ball playing and kicking games this year.

The problem for us isn't AD as an individual, he has plenty of strenghts, but AD as a half. The first few games he was good, and several here had him way up on a pedestal, without looking at the second and third order effects of having a player like him in the 7. It did not take long for the rest of the NRL to figure out how to limit him in attack, and by doing so shut down an entire edge. His passing game is bog average, and the Sukkar pass was an anomaly if you look at his historical efforts.

To combat this AD has, and this is opinion, tried to overcome it by doing more himself - futrther limiting our overall attack. And on top of this he has introduced these very poor chip kicks for himself that turn the ball over to the opposition in brilliant field position.

He has a place in the team, but 7 is not it, and given his defence has reverted back to the norm - he is either too injured to be playing FG or his confidence is so far shot he should be regaining it in cup.

Does any other 7 in the competition shut down an edge in attack so much? Does any other 7 in the game kick for themselves more than once in a game? Does any other 7 dominate the halves pairing so much? I could go on.

Pretty much agree, in the past when he has played five eight or on occasions filling in at centre he has been reluctant to pass the ball and consistently ran his outside man out of room.

Sorry to say that it probably won't change wherever he plays, he is set in his ways and I appreciate that he probably believes he is doing what he believes is the best thing for the team.

Sad to say that despite being such a strong runner of the ball, if he had a bit more footy nous and was a little less selfish, his efforts would translate into a lot more points that he is currently producing going one out much more often than he should.

How about you research who has won hands down the most man of the match awards for us over the past 12 months?
We have a bloke showing loyalty and respect-signing for us on 450k which is not even close to our to our top earners and gives us an opportunity to spend bigger and add quality in other areas, we struggle to win a game without his influence and he is all of a sudden our biggest problem?
No wonder we finish where we do every year with this type of influence from our supporter base.

He’s recorded 9 try assists, which places him 29th in the league. I’d rather a halfback who sets up his teammates.

Individually, his season has been quite successful but I just don’t think he’s a playmaker.

As I said he should be playing 5/8 and I’m pretty sure if you asked him he would prefer to play 5/8 himself.
He is only playing 7 as we had a 1.2 million player bought to play 7 who freezes and wants nothing to do with the ball on the 5th tackle.
We also have a fullback who freezes and wants nothing to do with the ball on the 5th tackle.
If we find someone who is clearly a better player and we don’t have to drastically overpay to get them here, than we can afford to cut him loose, but at the moment he has clearly been in our top 3 players this season, was clearly in our top 3 players last season and is among the bottom 5 earners in our top 17.

I would not cut AD.

At worst he’s an excellent utility option.

does a fit Schuster do a better job than AD ? I'd say yes could play 13 orr really good running 6
problem is he may not ever get fit

West Tigers star Adam Doueihi has sensationally walked out on the club after an argument with Benji Marshal.

News Corp is reporting that Marshall held a meeting with Doueihi on Thursday morning though to advise the player, who is locked into the Tigers until the end of 2029 after turning himself into one of the joint-venture's most important players during their early-season hot form, to advise that Doueihi would not be starting at halfback.

Instead, it's understood Marshall wanted to debut Andrews, keep Jarome Luai - who leaves for the Parramatta Eels before heading to the PNG Chiefs at the end of this year - at five-eighth, and play Doueihi in the middle, possibly off the bench.

As a result, Doueihi was left frustrated at the decision, and elected not to play this weekend.

“Adam won't be playing this weekend,” Tigers Chief Executive Shaun Mielekamp told the publication.

“Adam and Benji met this morning to discuss a plan for the weekend. Benji made a call on what's best for the team, but as a result Adam has asked for some time off, and we agree to that.”

There are no claims the 27-year-old is seeking a release yet, but it's a situation a number of clubs in need of a half around the game will be watching closely in the coming months.

Doueihi spent time at lock last year, starting there on a handful of occasions and playing well before moving back into the halves.

His injury history has been the main worry throughout his career, with Doueihi spending long stints on the sideline in between excellent play at either the halves or centre for the most part.

Marshall refused to delve into the situation when asked, saying he makes decisions week to week.

The Tigers will also be without half Latu Fainu this weekend after he failed to have a dangerous contact charge overturned at the NRL judiciary.

The Tigers play the Canberra Raiders away from home on Saturday afternoon.
