Adam Elliot (Bulldogs)

Gonna be a long year if we start new threads on every off-contract player that has a good game.
Elliott is a tad undersized for what we're after I think.

Bigger than Josh Jackson…The interesting thing about Elliott is he's managed to play 80 minutes the last 3 weeks and punched out some decent numbers.

Who would people rather we pursue as a second rower - Elliott, Harawira-Naera or Guerra?

In the order you have them

Elliott is absolutely the pick of the bunch there IMO. Can't really see what all the hype is over CH-N, haven't seen him play a standout game as of yet. Guerra hasn't been good for the last 2years at least, can't see him recapturing the form that made him a good player 3 or 4 years ago. By the same token the team he played in 3 or 4 years ago was 1 through 17 representative players….....that would help make anyone look good. Long live the Roosters bottomless money pit.

He is maturing quickly for a 22 year old.

Last 3 games he has played 80 minutes.

He plays 80 mins?? That'll be great if he signed with us and starts in our second row. Lawrence and Edwards aren't just cut out for the full game.

Throw some bigger than average $ at him. We won't be able to get him on a minimum to average wage. Slightly above average $ and he could really complete our forward pack.

Agree.

Harawira-Naera is the player we need. Big, powerful runner who can break the defensive line and is a specialist right hand side runner. He is also fast for a running forward. Elliott would be good also but not the top priority.

If bulldogs are already over the cap and Elliot is off contract than they are not even in a position to offer a contract. These are the good young type of players we should be targeting. Not the older players they want to get rid of. If yhe NRL has the balls to stand firm on the salary cap and rival clubs stay clear of their old brigade the bulldogs could have their future young guns lost to other NRL clubs . They will be playing next year with an aging side than when players retire all they will be left with is Sharon and Foran. That would be awesome
