The one thing I found off-putting about Adam (Rightly or wrongly) was how he would bag the club/coach whenever we were unable to land a big signing to his inner circle. Again (rightly or wrongly) some in his inner circle would leak this info out.

Not exactly a United front there. Sad to hear he did that.

imagine being on Madge's review committee and getting punted before Madge. Hartigan must have done something massively wrong

Wests Tigers have today confirmed that the club has parted ways with General Manager – Football Adam Hartigan, effective immediately.

Since joining the club midway through the 2019 season, Hartigan has played a key role in the recruitment and retention of a number of players to the club while also strengthening the Wests Tigers junior pathways network.

Tim Sheens will assume the role of Director of Football, effective immediately, with the club to confirm its new-look football department next week.

Wests Tigers would like to thank Hartigan for his efforts while at the club and wish him all the best in the future.

lol that is a pretty weak announcement..

Who writes these club releases?

Maybe it's just me but I get sick of them referring to the subject of the matter at hand by just their last name.

I don't really care about the circumstances or the terms surrounding someone leaving the club but it would make for more pleasant reading if they didn't refer to the person in question by just their last name as you may expect the guilty party in a criminal trial to be treated.

To me it shows a complete lack of respect for the individual concerned and it is actually getting right up my nose because to me it looks very unprofessional and arrogant and at times it feels not too differently to the way that the club fobs off and treats its' members on occasions.

Everything this club does online, in particular this and social media is embarrassing. Looks like it’s ran by someone who’s started to use the internet and the twitter for the first time. Needs a complete revamp

I agree, a lot of anger towards him seemed to centred around his son. Bit like now, how Cleary juniour is hated on here because of his dad. Being good at the job didn't seem to come into it.

Who are the modern day equivalents of previous Sheen recruits:
- Nick Graham
- Jason Moodie
- Matt Head
- Jason Cayless
- Adam Blair

So did we have a plan, if so why abandon it half way through? Hartigan cleared the cap, Sheens gets to mess it up. It is like reliving the coming of Ivan

C'mon, you didn't fall for the 'we have a plan garbage'. There's no plan here, never has been. But we're getting a gym.

If we actually owned the place, would likely be converting it into apartments

He is partly responsible for the break downs in signings of the bigger names who were on the verge of coming. He apparently is hard to contact for someone involved in recruitment & is hard to fathom.

At one point in a meeting, Sheens turned to GM Adam Hartigan and screamed, "You (bleeping) need Stefano. You can't win without Laurie." Sheens left boardmembers and coaches largely speechless. He dominated the recruitment in every way. Tim's back. !!

I'm Calling it now, Sheenius will be in contention for the best front office signing of 2022. Being back in TIGER TOWN will see him fire up and work endlessly for big money. Oh, and his signing efficiency was better than the existing GM Hartigan, so this appointment was already an improvement at his current level.

No idea why they would let go of Hartigan. With Sheens being made head of football I understand that Hartigan's job has then been made redundant but he should at least be involved in some capacity within the club in identifying and recruiting young talent (a field in which he's shown to be more than competent). And for Sheens to let go of Hartigan and bring back McDonnell... let me just say it's not been a great start to Sheens' return for me

Hartigan is gone because of McDonnell. Hartigan's brother who scouts junior talent for us in Qld also quit last night.

Can you expand on this Willow? The way I interpret what you have said here is that McDonnell has been appointed and Hartigan left on his own volition as a result?

Neither Hartigan or his brother rate McDonnell and Adam in particular was not prepared to take a back seat to Warren the butterball. Having said that, I'm not fussed that Hartigan has gone, personally I don't think he achieved much at all for WT in the way of quality signings.

I would guess Hartigan had an idea of this, he recruited the guys Sheens mentions.

In his previous stint he largely signed garbage. Overpaid them badly resulting in us needing to release players to other clubs and super league (while having to pay them).

He badly misjudged the talent and potential of some young players and took the wrong option when deciding who to keep.

I thought he was past it the first time he left, was taking the club in completely wrong direction.

The ship is now being steered by guys who, when you watch their highlights packages, one is not available in HD & the other is not in widescreen.
