But guys who have a closer relationship to the club than others...

@willow @cochise @NT_Tiger @Geo and any one else...?

The clubs been patient but how likely is it we see some wholesale changes after such poor seasons?

Surely Madge is not safe even if they portray this in the United front which they have been doing...

For us outsiders, what's the likelihood or are the club not transparent with this stuff with the fans?

Really good question @demps Honestly I doubt they make a change at coach. I have been told time and again that there won't be a change.

Personally I would like to see a change at coach, the issue is who is the replacement? In my opinion every option comes with massive issues and isn't a high percentage chance of improving the club.

I would be looking at Gardiner with a lot of support from really strong assistants, I'm talking about people who have NRL experience i.e Dean Pay as a defensive coach, strong input from Sheens. Hartigan and Gardiner have a really strong relationship and will complement each other well and both have a good focus on development and pathways. The issue is he is not a big name so would he be able to help in fixing the issue of recruiting high profile players? I don't think so, so Sheens input in those discussions would be critical.

It is a really tough position to be in as a club and their is no quick fix to this mess.

I would love to see that scenario play out. I think Gardiner surrounded by top assistants with Sheens overseeing things would be a revelation.

Top assistants;

Kimmorley, Farah and Morris.
???

I don't think they will be able to provide the type of support a rookie coach would need.

That's why the fonz is overseeing.

Coaches circle.

Sheens isn't enough.

Morris won a GF?

Bad signings have been AJ, BJ, Jtj, Ken, Amone,Pauga and Nofo and so who is responsible?

Remember when Madge was trying to sign all the Samoan team?
Was there any reasoning behind that?

You're probably right...
The souths coach he's going to work with isn't a superstar coach though.

Maybe reuniting with the boys, Farah and Sheens (Tigers) and Kimmorley (Sharks) could be enough though.

That's an amazing brainstrust.

They are close. He’s also NZ assistant if I’m correct. He’s not equiped for the job it’s one that very few can do. I hate the agenda being driven but Flanagan is easily the best option maybe Ciraldo but he’s be dumb to even think about taking it as a sought after rookie head coach.

Without knowing anything personally our recruitment at the top level is shambolic. Our scouting and younger players Laurie, Stefano, Blore, Simpkins, Simpkin seem to be very good.

Is it the case we hired a very good scout in a position too big for him. I don’t know but it looks that way.

I’d say your right.

He was a 20s coach, recruitment / development manager and the WNRL coach in his last year at chooks. We massively elevated his role but given the lack of attraction to this club I’m not surprised we had to.
Seem to recall a similar thing when we ‘head hunted’ a CEO and ended up picking up young up and comer that only ever acted in a CEO position at his former club.

By all reports...

Daine was wanted at Penrith but they couldnt promise him a position. We got lucky and they refused to release him early. Doesn't seem like he was told to look elsewhere.

Stefano too, he became disgruntled at the Eels after they mishandle his brother. He was too refused an early release.

That’s one way to look at it.
The other is that Charlie Stains, a fullback younger then Laurie was given a new contract and also Stefanos good mate Oregan Kaufusi was promoted to the first grade side prior.
I’m sure you could find a similar story for Blore.

I'm a big fan of Gardiner.

The Tigers had such a impact on the game during the Benji and Farah era. We attracted fans who would've grown up wanting to play for us... now it's like we are a shell. No one wants to play for us, people laugh at us and joke about us on TV.
We deserve better than this....

I've said it before but I serious think we need a coaches team consisting of..

Tim Sheens....
Brett Kimmorley
Robbie Farah
Johnny Morris
Brett Gardiner

A core group of very smart footballer minds that are relatable to the player, understand the modern game and understand the mind of a man/player.

Madge would make a great Nsw Cup coach to get the young guys ready for the big dance when they play grade but those other 5 could really build a dynasty and culture we've lacked for so long.

You make a really good point re Madge there.
One thing I got from the Doco was that he seems extremely patient, supportive and almost nurturing of the young group within the team.

He regularly talks about the team as a young group. I tend to believe his focus is the transition of the young players he and Hartigan have recently brought into this club. Rarely does he criticise or mention the senior players in press conferences or media we’ll all except MBye, he gets plenty of mentions.

Please tell me if I'm asking too much...

But guys who have a closer relationship to the club than others...

@willow @cochise @NT_Tiger @Geo and any one else...?

The clubs been patient but how likely is it we see some wholesale changes after such poor seasons?

Surely Madge is not safe even if they portray this in the United front which they have been doing...

For us outsiders, what's the likelihood or are the club not transparent with this stuff with the fans?

How do we as outsiders go about instigating change? I don't trust the club to make the rite decisions really is a mess atm.

You don't I'm afraid.

I would love to see that scenario play out. I think Gardiner surrounded by top assistants with Sheens overseeing things would be a revelation.

Gardiner wont be here if Madge is sacked.

Why do you think that?

Sure there is a souths connection but he is also tight with Hartigan. Said it himself...

They are close. He’s also NZ assistant if I’m correct. He’s not equiped for the job it’s one that very few can do. I hate the agenda being driven but Flanagan is easily the best option maybe Ciraldo but he’s be dumb to even think about taking it as a sought after rookie head coach.

Flanagan get take a long walk on a short pier.

You forgot the besser block attached to his ankle ....
