Why are people so surprised. Personally I don’t know how anyone thinks bringing Sheens back is a good thing for the WestsTigers Brand must have short memories?

Pretty much thought that (if I was Hartigan) and I heard that Macca was back that was the end of me.

It’s a pity but one big thing that stood against him was a series of signing failures of quality players, that he was associated with.

Time will tell if Sheens got this one correct.

Yep, we need to wait and see what happens now, because nothing much was happening before

THis is the thing. If you are in charge of recruitment, and its not happening...

They basically duplicated the role with Sheens appointment... the writing was on the wall from the time they fluffed around with Sheens job description

Another thing I will say about Hartigan he implemented the Cap management policy ..valuing positions as well as talent identification procedures ..some may not agree with the decisions costing us recruitment targets ..not overpaying the likes of Aloiai to stay going over the top for TPJ etc but it has put us in a good position mid to long term..

These decisions need to be maintained... I have my doubts..

That will do me you flick Hartigan, keep Pascoe and hire Ronald. No wonder this club is always under achieving. Okay I guess with Sheens running the show his job was redundant but gee we are top heavy with old people calling the shots. I guess time will tell if it was the right call, but I think it’s just another stupid move

This vindicates our actions in not renewing our memberships .. I am astounded that MacDonald has returned … did not take Sheens long to get the jobs for the boys up and running .
How Pascoe is still employed is staggering it’s just one big conga line of blaming others for an organisation of failure a disgrace! I fell out of love with Mr Sheens and nothing has changed !

Which means it’s also on him we have 1.2 left to spend with no one to spend it on. No good creating these strategies that can’t be implemented

This is a critical time for our Club in relation to many issues but particularly recruitment. We just have to land couple of very good players to prop up the youth.
With Dolphins in the game we may have to abandon not paying overs for quality.

I was for keeping Madge, but if it was a decision between keeping Madge or Hartigan I'm 50/50 and leaning towards Hartigan. Obviously I have no idea how it works in the club, but whoever identified and recruited Laurie, Stef and blore needs to be here. I liked how we were recruiting, even if we were losing out on some.

Any insight @cochise into this one?

Wests Tigers have just parted ways with GM Adam Hartigan, who brought Laurie, Stefano and Blore to the club.

Sheens now calling the shots. Bizarre move. The club’s only shining light has been the recruitment and development of the youth.

We bought Stef from Parra when he was a fringe player. Great move but doesn’t qualify as a pattern of successful recruitment.

This is also my take on it, was grateful we finally implemented better cap management methods however don't like that we've basically been counting pennies without the ability to attract top line players.
Watching Titans (though understandable for lifestyle choices) and two wooden spoon teams - Knights and Dogs - successfully lure players over the past 3 years has been hard to accept as a fan.
Love our junior talent but we need to fast track rebuilding an NRL standard team.

No idea why they would let go of Hartigan. With Sheens being made head of football I understand that Hartigan's job has then been made redundant but he should at least be involved in some capacity within the club in identifying and recruiting young talent (a field in which he's shown to be more than competent). And for Sheens to let go of Hartigan and bring back McDonnell... let me just say it's not been a great start to Sheens' return for me

Hartigan is gone because of McDonnell. Hartigan's brother who scouts junior talent for us in Qld also quit last night.

We needed significant change and it’s happening, might not work but at least we’re not just sitting around hoping.
