Addo Carr signs with Storm...

To be honest, getting rid of players is Bellamy's skill. He quickly works out if a player is 1st grade material and if they aren't, they are quickly released.

I bet JAC would rather stay here and I definitely would choose the Tigers over the Storm.

We have gun players all over the park and we are a good team.

We might be a good team Steve, but the Storm are an excellent team/club with a winning culture and hands down the best coach the NRL has ever produced. JAC will grow in leaps and bounds at the Storm and hopefully 😛ray: he will come back to us in a few years an even better and more complete player.

I'm not sold on all of this. The storm were so good because they rorted the cap. A coach looks great when he has the best cattle and melbourne have always had great players.

I also think that players can improve here as well. Look at Tedesco over the last couple of seasons and Moses this season. Nofo has also come on.

I wouldn't say Melbourne have had the best cattle over the years. Apart from Slater, Cronk, Smith & Inglis (early on) much of their teams have been made up of unknown fringe first graders who have ended up being developed into great players in a well coached team that is always in the mix for the premiership every season. Win or lose, they put in every single week, can't really say that about our mob right now, but let's face it, you wouldn't dare not put in and have to face the wrath of Bellamy!

Cap issues aside, I still rate Bellamy the best coach ever for how he has molded and delivered a consistently competitive team from an ongoing supply of predominantly average first graders. Wayne Bennett, on the other hand, has always coached teams choc full of already developed talent to get his results - the exception being Newcastle and we all know how well that worked out.

All that said, you are right though some of our guys are developing well here also and I really wish JAC was staying. I would've loved to witness his development and combination with Moses & Tedesco in the coming years, but alas that opportunity is now gone :frowning:

You forgot about Israel Falau.

Any team with with Falau, Inglis, Cronk, Smith and Slater would go alright no matter who was the coach.

Yep. Col might even be able to jag a win with those players.

Very similar to Korobiete when he left. Really needs to work on his defensive reads but can almost guarantee Bellamy will sort that out just as he did with Koro.

What defensive frailties has Bellamy fixed. He still rushes up and misses tackles left right and centre. It is hard to coach stupidity out of some players

This year running first, will most likely finish minor premiers and with which superstars: Cronk and Smith and is it bromwich. Other than that a team of no name players who he has gelled as a great team. Hats of to him.

Munster and Chambers are far from no names. Even players like Kenny Bromwich and Tohu Harris are quality as well.

There is nothing wrong with his tackling style he crushes the opposition- but ok does leave himself open due to bad reads - still one the most damaging wingers in the comp,- imo.

And there never has been. He put on one of the hits of the year on Chris Sandow the night he scored 4 tries at Cambo. Was only his second game.

chambers has missed half the year due to injury, munster is a replacement for billy slater and came from no where. The rest of the team are names you wouldnt even recognise or players who were average in other teams. So Craig Bellamy deserves no credit for 2016?

Munster playing fullback due to slater out injured
chambers played 13 games this year
Tim glasby?
Nelson Solomona
Ben Hampton
Felise kaufasi
Jordan Mclean
Dale finucane (average x bulldogs player)
blake green ( average nrl player)
Tohu Harris ( a superstar?? please)
Ryan Morgan (unwanted at the eels)
Suliasi Vunivali?? did you know about him before

Extremly well coached and on paper look like an okay team. Compare that the broncos or cowboys or bulldogs or rabbits or roosters.

Alright - lets say he is an improved player under Bellamy.. still with some defensive lapses. Made their FG side from the get go and hasn't looked back since.
And like Ado Carr was only ever given limited opportunities in our FG side when others were injured.

I wasn't aware that there were "superstars" and "no names" and nothing in between. Harris and Proctor are the NZ second row and would be be close to the best club level second row combination.

The Storm are a good team on paper. They have strike power on both wings, at fullback and with Chambers at centre. They have Cronk to feed good ball to their back line strike players. They have one of the best props in the game in Bromwich. They have a great second row. They have Smith feeding their forwards. They're a good model for where to invest salary cap dollars.

Munster playing fullback due to Slater being out isn't saying much. Slater is arguably the best fullback to ever play the game. At least the best fullback of the last 25 years or so anyway. He'll be there permanently when Slater hangs the boots up.

I don't recall anyone calling Tohu Harris a superstar either.

Finucane is one of the most underrated players in the comp for me - was desperately hoping we'd go for him the other year when he left the Dogs.
I don't think anyone is denigrating Bellamy, but to say he has a team of scrubs is just wrong. They do a great job of recruiting up in Qld in particular.

2008 Grand Final ring a bell Flip? Melbourne got absolutely humiliated 40-0, pretty sure that would be the most comprehensive arse-flogging in Grand Final history. Supercoach Bellamy didn't really inspire them to great heights that day.
Would love to see a similar scoreline against them in the coming weeks!

No we're not missing the point you're just trying to make a completely different one. He's saying they have a scrub roster for 2016 outside a couple of big names and we're saying that they don't have a scrub roster.
