Admin of WESTS Tigers...

if ever a time was right for harry t to become the westigers owner its now.
its a pipedream for sure and has been mentioned many times before but the upside of a wealthy owner such as harry t, a long time weststigers supporter and sponsor would sure make for a new, fresh culture and improved playing roster.
before others say it …. i'll get in first, " tell him he's dreaming "

Well fellow forumers so far we have had a disappointing 2015 in regards to victories…we have had many discussions about coaching structures and players....we have vented our different arguements as to our poor performances, the causes, the players and the coaching staff...

What I would like to say in regards to our admin, and correct me if I'm wrong, while we as supporters have been in limbo so to speak and being slightly disallusioned as to the direction the team and club are going...I have not seen or heard one word from MAYER,the board or Moss in regards to giving us a reasonable explanation to the way the team is performing and why,ok some will say it is Taylor's job,he is the coach...but in reality, the club gets my money for membership and merchandise etc and I would love to be given some sort of verbal support from either MAYER or Marina Go as to our plans and tactics heading into the back halve of the comp....lets face it if these two can't see the fan base is severely upset at the moment then they really need to move on or face the fans and give them something to at least resurrect some faith back into this club...where I work my CEO addresses members problems on a daily basis, surely an address by our Admin once a month isn't to hard to ask, just for the sake of keeping us informed of recruitment progress or financial updates and our position in general halfway through this season..I completely understand our team and club have had many problems that have accumulated over quite along time, and there is no quick fix for either of the problems, however a courteous update now and then would make me feel a whole lot better when we get a bad result on field or a poor crowd at games....

COMMUNICATION is not that hard...it's wether your prepared for the onslaught is what makes it tough..

Side note..I know there is a meet the coach etc etc...I can't go but would like to receive some sort of address from the top shelf Admin,it would make me feel part of the club that I pay to be a member of,and not feel as though they have my money and thank you very much, see you next year...

Want to know how and why the team is performing the way it is….listen to JT's press conferences after the games and previews before the games...all your answers are there!....Want to know how the WT are performing off the field...**attend the AGM its free**...Mayer also issues a CEO a "state of the nation report" to members every 2 -3 months....

Me wonders if we were winning would this post exist?

Which AGM is that?
Wests, or Balmain, you'll get nothing there….WTs have no members, only season ticket holders

I consider it a major plus of the admin. that we don't have Mayer spruking all manner of things concerning the football operations. That's what he was doing last year, and it simply wasn't his job. Obviously there are now very clear guidelines as to what areas are whose responsibility. It's also a major plus that there doesn't seem to be too many leaks coming out of Concord - so again, another plus for the new admin.
As tough as it is to stomach, taking the bit between the teeth and resisting the temptations to purchase players we obviously can't afford at present is the correct way to go as far as a longer term business plan is concerned.
It's just a shame that the previous administrations didn't show the same fiscal responsibility.
So, without evidence to the contrary, I would give the admin a healthy pass mark.
The same can be said for the S&C side of the football operations. Our injury situation has been a marked improvement on previous years.
Now all we need is the players and coach to start producing efforts that are on par with the rest.

Yeti,I dont care about Mayer spruiking all things football operations wise,I want to know how we are going financially after poor performances and poor crowd and merchandise sales, the revenue is not as good as last year with bigger attendance at games…surely we have a right to ask what his plan is to recoup lost income, that would be there if we were winning...

The last thing Taylor needs is 'the full support of the Board'..

I thought we were on the right track of Administrators Administrate Coaches Coach and Players Play…guess not...

Sounds good to me.

I wish people really would let them get on with the job rather than satisfying their own self interests. That's all it is, self interest. It soaks up their time which could be best spent fixing the club. It's completely counter-intuitive ! Crude analogy, but would you stop a paramedic performing cpr for a verbal update because you pay taxes and therefore their wages? What the Tigers REALLY need for success is us out supporting them at games, positivity and to continue to buy into their vision of a way forward.

Thats crap. Its not self interest its support.

They are guardians of our club, we arent accountable to them, they are there to do a job for the club, the jersey, the fans.

The fact we have so much negativity in this thread to genuine questions any long suffering fans should have imo is everything that is wrong with this club.

For far too long we have just accepted mediocrity and excuses.

Good clubs demand success!

If the current players and coach are incapable of producing these efforts are hopes are forlorn.

I think what True Tiger is trying to say is that given how poorly we have been performing it now falls on Meyer or the board to make some sort of statement on the coach and how long the club is happy to keep playing this poorly.

I disagree..Mayer and the Board are not responsible for how the footy team plays. They appointed Taylor on a 3 year contract and he is 6 months into the contract…Nothing else needs to be said or done.
.

Yes but how the footy team plays impacts on an already delicate situation we have with our finances and support.

We are losing fans, maybe not many but enough. One thing is for sure we arent gaining any new ones.

I dont think anyone wants weekly updates or to be given a grand tour of the boardroom and the books but there are a lot of excuses being thrown up and not a lot of accountability or clarity.

I have just sent an email to <gmayer@weststigers.com.au>and immediately received the following reply;

"Thanks for the email. Happy to answer any question you have now or on Friday. Marina Go will address the crowd and Phil Moss from footy department will talk about football issues. Please let me know if you have any specific questions."

As per his reply Grant Mayer is happy to answer any specific questions regarding the club now or at the meeting on Friday.</gmayer@weststigers.com.au>

The way that I understand the salary cap is that All clubs receive 100% of their salary cap as a grant from the NRL and are able to spend as much or as little of it as they want, unless the current years cap was spent in previous years on back ended contracts. There will be some lean times until the books are in order again.

Brave man airing that point of view on this forum Hammertime. Start ducking …...

Mayer spent all this time on Twitter engaging the fans while we were playing poorly last year and got hammered.

Now the board are copping it for staying tight lipped? What does everyone honestly want them to say? "Uh yeah, we're playing like shit, we've got a coach for three years and we can't afford to pay him out so we're stuck with him."

Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

The board could say "it's not as bad as it looks".

Then everyone can scream from their high horse about how they should spend less time writing press releases and providing soundbytes and focus on saving the club from exterminating itself.

Does anybody in the fan base really know what happened to the money the club which should have freed a large CAP space after players of the calibre of Blair, Marshall, Austin, Korobeite and Navajairo left our club? Has the money which was paid out to Sheens when he left the club before completing his contract also had an effect on our CAP financial situation? Is it possible for the fans to have some idea at least as to when the club expects to sign new players especially in the clearly deficient centre and second row positions?

These are the questions the Wests Tigers are obliged to answer to their fans.

Your last sentence will easily go down as one of the funniest lines this year.

How the team is performing is for JT to state..he doe this in his press conferences and round previews. He will be reviewed at the end of the season.

No one promised us a premiership team this year...what we need to see is YOY improvement...and we are getting that this year.....so while the last 6 games results have been hard to swallow....we should just accept this is not out of line to what was expected.....

I take it that you have not read Juro's curve thread lately, as that shows exactly what we are "getting" so far this year, and forked if I see an improvement at this stage of the year.

CB,last year we had an absolutely garbage year with inhouse fighting,Robbie and co,leaks and the mid season review, all of which Taylor does not have to contend with this year,he has free rein to do as he pleases and get results…as poor as they are,but is left alone to sort out the team...no contentious questions there...I'm saying, because of the poor performances we have poor crowds and merchandise sales etc..we already lacked finances prior to this year and seem to get further behind,my question to MAYER and the board is How do we recoup lost revenue and what is our financial position up until now as a club in general ,not just the team and cap..if we have had no monies to buy players this year how are we looking toward next year as we desperately need some quality players that will come at a price...I'm not looking for the sacking of Taylor or dumping of players,I just want to know how we stand financially so as to strengthen a weak young team as it is now..
