Sadly I don't think Souths would let go of him.

I think Doueihi is Souths first option no.1 atm.

What about , what the players want ? Ie. the offer of a fullback slot ? How do you Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon a team that was top 4 , where a player already has a position in that squad , with an offer from a team that came 9th ?
Money right ? But then you end up paying extreme overs and put the team right back where it was last year. And who at Souths is really a game changer , that will leave , even for extreme overs ?

That's the "we have you where we want you, now we both hurt". I would only maybe do this to one club, not Souths.
We have a great position to negotiate with Souths if Mitchell wants to go there. Ofcourse we will bid ourselves, but if Souths ask for a rescue I would happily come to their aid.
"So you want us to take Alex Johnson off your hands, sure. Hey are you interested in having Chris McQueen back? Great we would like to swap him with Cam Murray."
Ofcourse we won't be swapping McQueen for Murray, but we would be getting a far better deal and a front row upgrade (which we need far more then anything else bar a Hooker).
When the other side is desperate that is when you negotiate hard with a smiling face 🙂

Mate, if he somehow jiggles this into West's favor Ill be the first in line to grovel.

The Matto debacle has me dubious though. Unless, it was part of his super long con and Matto moving to Parra was part of the pieces he needed to fall...doubtful but I'm hoping its the case!

That’s the only idea I have atm, not a statement of fact but I think this next week coming has to see some heavy pieces fall/Addo-Carr, Arrow and then hopefully our good faith RE Matto can somehow put us in a good light , let’s be honest though, didn’t have much leverage to start.

Any effort to sign Johnston now is the definition of stupidity. He is on good money and will expect similar with a long term contract.

He is off contract next year, and given a year in reserve grade (he will not make south's top 17 without injuries) he will be available for near enough to minimum contract.
