Alex Seyfarth #232

The point is those coaches thought he would've been a valuable addition to their squad both coaches have gone on to have success at their respective clubs & deemed Seyfarth good enough for their club but yet he's not good enough for perennial Wooden Spooners? ok mate.

And you’ve shifted the goalposts yet again. You really can’t help yourself, can you? Try looking up what a logical fallacy is, dunce.

Canterbury didn’t even make an offer and they finished 15th that year and Warriors didn’t budge on their offer. Valuable addition? There you go talking out of your arse again. For all you know, Warriors wanted him as nothing more than injury cover or depth. I know Magpies fans have a low bar for “valuable” but this is just pure desperation by you lol

Haven't seen anyone take real exception with Seyfarth being in the 'Squad'

There's plenty of Bricks in the road from being in a Squad of 34 to a Starting side of 17 and
Our team (the Wooden Spooners - as you've labelled them) isn't strong enough to carry the likes of
this guy in the 17.

I'm done having a conversation with someone who can't discuss things without being an absolute d head. Good luck to you.

The person I was arguing with was claiming that Seyfarth wouldn't make top 8 teams yet teams who have made the 8 in recent years saw him as a valuable player to their squad. That's all.

The Broncos signed Ben Talty from the Bears mid season who at age 26 had not previously played NRL.
Solid player who done his job and played really well for the Broncos, but it’s a joke for anyone to believe he’s any better than Alex Seyfarth.
Tatty played nearly every game for the Broncos over the back end of the season except the GF in which they opted for Tyson Smoothy in a defensive middle forward role.
Again if selecting someone as purely a middle forward, nobody is going to select Tyson Smoothy in that role ahead of Seyfarth.
It’s laughable to even suggest that Alex Seyfarth would not be a regular or at worst a semi regular off the bench for all teams that finished in the top 4 in 2025.
Judging Seyfarth based on playing out of position as an edge back rower is like judging Bula if he was playing halfback, Api as a halfback or Luai if he was playing fullback.

In hindsight I'll own up to saying Seyfarth should start over Samuela was silly but people who think Seyfarth would be invaluable to our 17 & team have got no idea.

He regularly gets praise from the Fox and Channel 9 commentators when coming off the bench due to his high energy, whole hearted style of play.
So the ex players now commentating must be ******* idiots like you and I according to some of the experts on this forum.

Geez pre season started and the hotest topic on the forum re our squad is Seyfarth. It’s going to be a very loooooonnnnnggggg off season if this continues.

I think everyone agrees he isn’t a nrl regular starter but as a squad depth player ticks the boxes. He does have his moments but also when he doesn’t is very very costly. Either way we do need players like him in the squad but we need our top 13 to be better quality - if that happens then we wouldn’t be talking about Seyfarth the way we do.

Maybe he gets a full off season as a prop and we use him that way but for him to be effective as a prop he has to make meters - that’s always been his weakness at NRL level over anything else.

I'm a huge fan of this becoming the most active thread on our forum. Let's beat the Luke Brooks thread.
That will only happen if we make Seyfarth Halfback!!

...
Marshall is a little fringie with his coaching ideas, but it would take the lovechild of Sheens and Kimmorley to do something that mad.

For now, Seyfarth is a wests Tigers Prop... So ofcourse he will be training as a Center!

I heard that he was way in front of AD to be the 13 in 26,
