Alex Seyfarth #232

Never met a more polarising figure then Seyfarth. I have no doubt he has improvement in him. We will have the momentum more in games this season so it won't affect his discipline as much. Can't wait for all the haters to eat their words.
I hope so. I know I’ve be critical and call him Sayfart or a baby giraffe all the time, but for some reason I still like him, and every year I hope he turns into an adult Tiger, but geez couldn’t we have just extended him for 1-2 years. He seems to love the club and I like anyone who loves our club, especially if they’re a Ginger Ninja.
So come on Baby Giraffe morph into a Roaring Tiger!!!

He improved last year …still think he has a bit more to go for someone I want to see starting every week …

Would have preferred two years … maybe another one who they think has had a big offseason and perhaps another club was sniffing around…

Hope the money is cheap at least

If he really develops and makes that edge spot his own than he will be on peanuts…even if he doesn’t and remains than benchie/18th man he’s still not overpaid and good value. He’s a local junior and has heart. we only win from this extension.

Seyfarth continually improves each year.
Expecting big things from him, this year.
Yes but they’re baby giraffe step improvements, he really needs to start making big improvements. I reckon it’s in him somewhere he’s a ginger. Hopefully it’s this next season to prove we made the correct decision in extending him the 3 years.

Seyfarth plays well above his pay packet,if all our players did we would not have a wooden spoon let alone won the last 3.I wish i could say the same for all of our players in the last 3 years.
Good post. Seyfarth was a second row forward in the juniors and he may even have been a winger prior to that.

Seyfarth has been the worst disciplined in the team the last 3 years. So if our entire team got penalised more, we wouldn't have won the spoon? Strange take.

Not sold on Seyfarth in the slightest. Should be a bench or depth option.

. . . . . . and if he finds improvement each week it will justify his long term signing on what I can only assume is a fairly modest contract. 🤞

He's a tryer bat but have issues with his attack at the moment not enough impact and is easily handled by the bigger forwards feel we need a bigger player in his spot.
I agree he is not a right edge back rower that is going to strike fear into our opposition, however I think he’s more than earned an opportunity to get a good run of games in that position to see how much he can improve his running game and general attacking play.
I don’t think there is much wrong with his defence.
When in our red zone, Seyfarth has shown in the past he can be effective and cross the strike, so I don’t think that is an issue, but in the modern game it is ideal to have both of your edge back rowers with the speed and power to make more regular tackle busts and line breaks.
At worst he is definitely a valuable player to have in our top 17 as he has shown he also holds his own when playing b as a middle forward.
I’ve seen a lot of comments stating neither Seyfarth or Twal would make the top 17 at other NRL clubs, those comments are way off the mark.
As you and I have both previously stated RHS, our current team doesn’t look to have too many issues when we are full strength, but it’s about having the right balance between workers and impact players and we are probably lacking one more impact player in our forwards, whether that be another Royce Hunt style of hard running prop, or another attack minded back rower who can cause destruction when running the ball.
A good all round centre who is a very good reliable defender would be good also.

If we had the perfect world an impact prop, 2RF and strike centre would probably give us a top 8 side, as for Twally never had a problem with him when fully fit he has proven his worth.
