Almost an apology from Sheens

This is a coach that made the biggest blunder on record that cost us Balmain the grand final.Dont know about best analyst.

You say it doesnt mean hes always right and thats true but show me a time on this forum when you guys dont think hes wrong.

Who is a better analyst than Warren Ryan?

Gallant at fullback and Moltzen at half, he's not wrong on that one.

LOL GOOD ON YA BONSTONKER.

You know what makes me laugh alot of these are just over 20 years old and still living with mumma and they already know everything.

As far as I'm aware, no one here claims to know more than Sheens. Doesn't mean he is always right however.

The way I see it, getting Morris out of the halves is a no-brainer. Everyone knows he is not a halves backside, can't pass, kick or control play. Do I need to be a coach to know that? No. I just need to watch a game or two.

League is a simple game. Meatheads play in the forwards, creative players with skill and vision and kicking and passing ability play in the halves. Morris fits into the first category, not the second one.

It shouldn't have taken so long and ultimately it will cost us.

A simple explanation, but a good one HT. Moltzen this season has looked a far more confident player. While I had no dramas with him playing fullback, I'd much rather him (along with everyone else on here) in the halves over Morris, who offers more from the bench than anywhere else. What I like about Moltzen in the halves is that he has very good pace for a half, he can tackle, has an excellent step off his right foot and he showed a couple of times today that he has a big boot and needs to start using it more. The Tigers backline is certainly looking more dangerous all of a sudden and overlaps are being taken advantage of too which has been a long time coming.

all i have to say is that we should buy a massive bunch of flowers n send them to the sharks 4 buying morris.
from the first hand-full of games 3 seasons ago, anyone with 1/2 a brain could see he was no a half yet he has frustrated the living daylights out of 3/4's of the Tigers fans week in week out with his pathetic ability to do nothing but kill the play time after time.
i hope we make the 8 this year, but if we dont then i am 99% sure we can next year with morris gone.

JMO is a solid defender and workhorse he is just not a half.
I think since we signed he has missed maybe one game.
He should have been used as a utility that is not his fault I hate to see him go out being bagged.

Was good to hear Sheens come out and say what he did and it is a shame it didnt happen sooner.

Well I think a lot of people didn't really want morris to go, just to be moved to the number 14 spot

Too right.
He is a perfect no.14 and thats no disrepect. The utility role on the bench is just as important as any in the run on side.

Anyone listening to 2GB? I am so sick and tired of the biased views of ex players who just continuely bag anyone who is'nt Manly…Bozo your name could'nt fit better. Why isnt blocker firing up and defending the Tiges. Yes it was'nt pretty but hello we were not favourites and have won..

Please do yourself a favour for your own sanity and never listen to those fools. They are a disgrace to the game. The way they never talk footy and laugh at stupid things and waste time playing the most pointless songs shows contempt to the genuine footy fan. But the worst thing they do is bag current players relentlessly. They all do it with such arrogance in their voices, its sickening. Roach, Hadley and Moore are the worst commentators in the game, and im surprised all players and coaches havent blacklisted them and shut them out of the game.

Couldn't agree more..Turn to 1269 2SM ,Hughes and Tunks ,TALK PURE FOOTY SAT ARVO…

Morris should have been replaced in the halves a while ago. That I do not disagree with.

However I do agree with the way Moltzen has been developed, and for that matter how this has aided Marshall in his development. Sheens playing Moltzen in the centres baffled me last year, I was highly critical of it. But now it makes real sense to me. He is defending in the centre position now which allows Ayshford to defend at a halves/lock position which he is far more comfortable and effective doing.

I still do not rate Moltzen as a fullback. However his time there gave him time to adjust to the team dynamic and get used to ordering the entire team around. Putting a player straight in at half sometimes will not achieve this. It may have been great short term but this year is about the long term. This is how I understand the term watershed year. It is about development as much as it is about cutting away the dead wood.

We cannot forget also that playing Marshall at half has made him a far more reliable and effective playmaker. He still has moments but they are becoming far less in frequency.

I think the Moltzen move was maybe 3 weeks too late but I think it has been handled the best way possible for his career and his future at the Tigers

So what do you think about the current fullback situation Smeg?

He has far exceeded my expectations and has found another gear. He played better in the last 2 weeks than he has played in the State Cup for a season.

A definite contract but not a lock on the 1 jersey for next season yet although he has first dibbs so to speak at this stage

Now that you laid it out there…..Sheens actually can develop a young gun can't he......Very well said Smeg could not have put it better myself....

After watching him drive BRET in '07...then all those games in the 20's last year.....thinking Sheens you fool....you are going to stuff this kid...

All the while Sheens was still developing his game as a half.....He was right to drop him when he did last year...you could see the kids confidence starting to falter with us getting dusted and Benji going like a busted.....

Moltzen has arrived IMO....He has stepped up.....Can't wait to see this kid after 60 first grade games......Sign him now Wests Tigers....be proactive for once.....

Time will tell, want to see how he handles the bigger games, when the pressure is on..

i agree that gallant has been great these last 3 wins, but its how you play in a loss and under pressure that will determine whether he is a FG fullback, we saw the dogs test him with the high ball and he failed, and in our 3 wins in attack hes been great but he hasnt really been tested defensively with high balls and grubbers.

He should definatly get a contract though he is a solid player and a good back up if something goes wrong, but for m ill judge him after the manly dogs and titan games where he will be put under pressure

Silva High Ball and grubbers are what he does best.

He misjudged one bombed from the Dogs probably due to nerves.

prior to his inclusion our fullback area was letting in at least 2 tries a game.

This player is having a GO.. better than some of the rubbish that has been dished up by many this year…Good on you mate you show some spirit !

Lol where did you pull that from have you any stats to back that up or is this just your expert opinion.

Gallant has done quite well expecially yesterday and he seems to be getting better but he hasnt been tested under a few high balls yet so lets see how he goes with that before gloating about him.

Not interested in what his done in nsw cup it is a below par competition and not played like the nrl.

Come over my place _tigerman69_ (bring the beers please) and we will sit down and watch every game from round one and we can count them together. Bad positioning from Moltzen and others in defence in the fullback position has killed us.

P.S. James Squire is on sale!!
