Club’s meeting with him and management this week and I hope they can all resolve it.

I think most would like to see him stay and hope he does.

The difficult thing for people to understand at times is that there are many decisions to be made and some decisions hinge upon others.
Yes - I understand Josh wants to weigh up offers - we all would. But, the club needs resolution one way or the other. If it doesn't have that it can't move on to other needs/ opportunities.

Obviously, I don't know the 'real story' but if negotiations have been ongoing for some time, the club decided it needed a decision rather than having to wait and potentially miss out in a narrow window of opportunity should Josh decide to move on.

I think this is the problem the club drag out negotiations ala LM & JAC and get smashed when there only being used as a bargaining chip or they place a deadline and get smashed when the players go else no win situation maybe the club is approaching things differently after being burned paying players what their worth to play for WT'S and not be held as bargaining tools for managers and players not before time hope the Packer Mbye and Jrey days are over.

Whilst Josh is highly regarded by a number of supporters a couple of Questions need to be asked
Is he a super star player? NO
Is he an injury prone player ? YES
Is 10% increase fair offer considering our Hamstrung SC situation ? YES
Is he irreplaceable as a player? NO

Will our recruiting team obtain a suitable replacement? DOUBTFUL

There are any number of players out there with the same ability as Josh.

Can you name the available ones for 2021 please. Genuinely interested.

I think they will have to let him go, even though he is signed for next year.

Don't know anyone of equal ability myself off contract at the moment.

Why?

Josh is not off contract either.

I don't think this is unique to us. Its the middle men in this that slow things down - the managers. Clubs would get signatures on the dotted line sooner if managers were not trying to use a contract as leverage to get a better deal - and some cases players hold off signing trying to get out of a deal with current managers. They have got there paws over everything.
The carry on about our club dragging things out is happening for all players/clubs where there is more than one club showing interest in a player.
The players with options are either choosing not to play with us or being guided not to or a combo.of both.

Josh Aloiai has asked for a release claiming he’ll never wear our jersey again

He’s best buds with Matterson and it seems he’s going down the same road as him. Wants the big money offer from manly.

let him sit out or manly can buy his contract out or give us a player as fair compo.

We are the hardest club in the league to support. Can’t remember a year without drama can’t remember a year making finals it’s so crap so sick of it

From lee in that article
"In my view he has a contract with the Wests Tigers which he will fulfil in 2021 unless I can leverage a commercial advantage for the club. The days of players, or others, thinking that they can use the Wests Tigers as a stepping stone are over."

Wow. That is a bombshell. What a terrible way to leave a club.

Overall he was an inconsistent player who didn't fulfil his potential.

Unpopular opinion - I like the fact Lee Hagipantelis is talking about this stuff to the media. He is basically calling out the players on their bull.

A nice quote from the article from him: *"In my view he has a contract with the Wests Tigers which he will fulfil in 2021 unless I can leverage a commercial advantage for the club. The days of players, or others, thinking that they can use the Wests Tigers as a stepping stone are over."*

Wow. If Josh A is agitating for an early release, way to go in ruining your reputation.

2021 is a write off anyway, who cares if we sit him in Reserves all year. Wouldnt bother me, he can play grab-ass with Packer and Reynolds.

agree
sit out or play with us
otherwise manly can buy out the contract
we are no pushovers anymore

One good season and the bloke wants the big bucks. Management should’ve locked him up before November 1st too. Just terrible from both parties I’m so upset about this I hate this bloody club 😂😡

I'd go further actually, I'd make him train away from our squad.

Isolate him. Don't subject them to his rubbish.

So that’s what the stink was all about, getting an early release.

Where has Josh vowed that? No quote?

Well if he didn't say it, he needs to go public in his denial of that quote immediately, and stand up for the club.

Yeah... it seems like a quote but is not directly attributed to him or when he said it.
