Aloiai

Simples. The money he’d be paid for 21, add it on top of the offer we gave JAC. If he accepts, tell Aloia to take a hike. If not, sit in reggies another year. Puss.

Lol I enjoy all this drama for some reason
I like him as a player, and he had a good year but this year was him at his absolute peak.
Never going to be one of the top props in the game

Lee on SEN now saying he will be pushing the NRL to ensure that players requesting releases on compassionate grounds cannot profit from the release and that their remuneration should remain the same for the remaining period on the defaulted contract.

I agree with him. Should generate support from all clubs.

What else did he talk about ?

Just listened to Lee Hagipantelis on SEN. He was pretty firm. Im comfortable. This happens everyday at every club.

Theres a few trolls on here that would be giggling their heads of at getting others to bite on here. Jog on everyone.

Hagipantelis on Roberts......impressed with him and its a consideration. They have to balance the needs of the club.

On Mansour.....agreed a quality player, didnt sound positive but didnt shut the door.

On Macguire..... no dramas at all. He is locked in.

If this constant defaulting on contracts stops it should arrest the rapid rate of increasing player salaries.

But how many times does this happen to the powerful clubs - Cleary, Matterson, Aloiai see a pattern

And his "mate" spun the line that the deal with Manly was nothing like figures being currently talked about.

Who is his "mate?"

I think the poster on here who spun the story about Aloiai being treated poorly and claimed to be his mate.

Talked about Pascoe meeting with Roberts. Nothing firm there yet.

Maguire was mentioned as well, but couldn't listen to all that part. Assume it's about extending him.

If it's true he said he will never wear our jersey again, when he is contracted to us, that is a dog act.

Yeah, if he refuses to play the club should make him sit out next year with no football. Don't release him. His contract was low enough that it won't be a huge impact.

Actions like this need to have impacting consequences

If he refuses to play, the club should be able to stand him down without pay.

Maybe, but that may trigger some sort of contract cancellation clause which would allow him to sign with the seabirds next year.

NRL usually sides with the players in these circumstances. V'landeys may have a different opinion

Guys very impressed with Roberts. Gave the impression we're interested.
Mansour chats had happened, however appear to have stopped.
Asked about Madge extension, sort of said there will be no issues with Madge and Tigers and he's passionate about the club. Sort of dodged it a bit tbh, unless I heard things wrong?

Lee H said on SEN
WT counter offers made with Josh A
unlikely to give a release in 2021
He said contract will be fulfilled

In relation to Roberts he says meeting went well and he was honest on where he is as a footballer

He said Mansour is a good player Justin reached out to him from his time at Penrith, he is an option but a few players in the mix
Hopeful of making some signings soon .

No issues with Maguire as coach at all no dramas

I would say we will sign Roberts I reckon

Yeah I got the impression Roberts was pretty advanced but Lee didn't want to stick his foot in it.

A thought regarding Aloia. If its true that he will "never wear a Tigers jersey again" and it was only a month ago there was a photo of Aloia post knee surgery (at Tigers expense of course), well the Tigers may prioritise physio and rehabilitation services to player that will be wearing our jersey. Then release him to Manly the week of RD 1. See how Manly going paying top dollar for a fat bloke with a bung knee.

Make him captain you’s all said ....
(Won’t name names) 😂

Aloiai has turned out to be a right sook

Last man standing... Chee Kam ...
Love ya Michael 😍

Wonder if it was possible to sign him earlier so there’s no way manly can even talk to him officially

Can’t say I’m a big fan of players being allowed to sign deals a whole year in advance

If I stop turning up to work without explanation or pre-agreed leave, I will not be paid.

MCK may ask for a raise now, otherwise he won't pull on the jersey:joy:

Hugely disappointed in how things have unfolded.

I don't know how bringing Matterson into the discussion while choosing to ignore the fact we are undergoing yet another retention blunder helps. I couldn't care less about player reputations once they leave our club but rather more how we can change ours re: our retention/recruitment.

I'm also pretty certain Twal is actually his best mate, so does that mean we'll lose him? Who cares if players wish to follow suit of other former players. The concern should be more focused on our most problematic issues. Prospects won't care about the reasons either however will more likely question our treatment of players.

#MeToo

But Pro Sports players seem to get out of these situations to their advantage. Not saying he will but their employment contracts are nothing like ours...
