If we do that, it will happen again next year with someone else like it did Matterson and Ivan before that.

St George and Melbourne manage to hold onto to “unhappy” players without it being front page news.

I suspect he'll live to regret that meme - very foolish move. What did he think he could achieve by mocking the chairman - a lawyer - when trying to negotiate a release from a binding contract.

If Lee H was dirty at the situation he'll be absolutely livid now. I think JA has likely cost himself any chance of a release unless we're on the receiving end of some significant player compensation.

God certainly works in mysterious ways...

Wouldn't surprise me if the club fines him for that. He'll end up losing money the way he's going.

Really shows the lack of respect for the club these boys have.

Ah, two very different teams and approaches there. Key difference the Melbourne players are wanted at the moment.

Also, it's clear JAC had media training and also preparation for this. I did not think about it but should we be working with Aloiai to get a better message out?

I can't believe he posted that mene hah. Many NRL players are too stupid to use social media. If he had a PR agent they'd collapse after that.

Average footballer, no great loss.
Probably doing us a favour

He might be average, but there's something seriously wrong at this club, too many players have wanted out, to many quality players are saying no to our big offers...my mail it's Maguire, he's not seen as a coach players want to play for, and that's from a current first grade mate of mine, but the love for Maguire will continue on this forum, this club has been on a downhill spiral, for years....has accelerated under Maguire

What a load of crap.

Have you not been reading what is going on?

Managers only make money out of deals between player & clubs.

All this crap is purely for money.

Really shows the lack of respect for the club these boys have.

Self involved. He loved the club three weeks ago till he didnt get what he wanted. Child like behaviour. The players may laugh along with antics last night, but if he has got anyone who is truly in his corner they should pull him aside start damage control.

Havent Seen the Meme, however the club isnt without fault TBH

We should be locking up the players we want to keep.

It cant be easy hearing that "This player and That" keeps getting offered ridiculous $$$. I could see how Aloai, Nofa, Luch etc could feel under valued.

How many would be putting their hands up to come this way from Manly?

Im backing Lee and Madge to draw the line in the sand

Quite a few. Players know what is going on. If we offer a better contract to a player from Manly (or another club) we want in return, the same motivation will apply in return ie: money and opportunity.

Can we keep him away from the other player but prevent him from leaving his contract? So he can do nothing all year ? Not even train. I suppose that's a legal danger? That would be my ideal situation though. Let him not train and deteriorate. No player will try it again with us

Um...he was offered more than the incoming Penrith captain Tamou?

Why? It creates an administrative burden. Pressure Smith. He wants his commissions he better get us the player we need.

Thanks heaps, in advance.

If the players are being told by their manager they will get more elsewhere and to hold off till November 1 what can the club do if they put what they think is a fair value on them?
His contracted to this club for another twelve months the clubs timeline in dealing with that is fine. You would be nuts to try and tie a player of his standing up any earlier than that - he is not Jason Taumololo.

I don't think the second grade would train with the NRL side regularly?
