If we are going to break the no DH policy lets do it with a far better player than this

Too late, it was broken when we recruited Matterson

I raise you BJ Leilua

Remember when the Warriors had a young player drown (Sonny Fai) just before start of 2009 season and it really had an impact on their season with only 7 wins. Manly quite understandable will struggle with the passing of a popular player. If I was Josh I would find a way to apologise and stay a WT.

Sounds like if we get Joe O they’ll just let Aloiai walk.... not really a tough stance.

I think up until now we’ve handled this well but if we do that it will show little has changed. We need compensation from Manly in the form of a player or $ otherwise he should be made to fulfil his contract. Won’t send the right message if we just let him walk.

Sounds like it Josh, however it’s a catch 22 situation because we need to release him to free up a spot and cash for Joe

We’ll have the money for Joe even if we keep josh

I don’t believe that’s true. We have 28 signed for ‘21 and had enough money to offer JAC.

Can’t agree with that, don’t think Aloiai has ever been considered for Origin, but in any case if we can swing signing Joe O along with a straight swap of a player from Manly it would well and truly cover the loss of Aloiai, imo.

Yeah but the competition for spots in the NSW squad in the forwards is far greater than it is in the Qlder spot .....Jo O is a fringe player at the Broncos with a bad attitude I'd take Lodge back over Jo

You play Fantasy and you watch potential players closely .....I seriously don't rate Jo O

If Aloiai played for Qld he would have been in the squad before Jo

What ? Where did you pull that from ? The bad attitude stuff ? I’ve never heard that about him . He dropped his form the last few years , which coincidentally was the same time his missus was diagnosed with cancer .

Caught cheating at the Casino ....

Broke camp with the SOO young guns

Found drunk in his car at the wheel asleep 10 months ago ..stood down by Broncos let go now

Not heard one good thing come fom the Broncos about Jo ....

Hey all, this doesn't really change the plot but it wasn't necessarily Josh's choice, it was the influence and manipulation of his manager and also partially his wife. Bottom line, he's still chasing money but it wasn't solely his own choice; this also explains why he had a sudden change of heart for the club. It's honestly really bad but it wasn't completely in his hands.

Seriously?
That's like saying I didn't mean to hit her. She called me a wuss and that manipulated me into it.

Had he approached Pascoe and advised he had received a very good offer via his manager and would like a release to take it up, I believe it would have been better accepted by the WTs and supporters.

definitely, he was very immature and the social media posts only tarnished his reputation.

There is absolutely no point anyone signing a contract with anyone else unless both parties intend to enforce their rights. Once you respond to a player's blatant attempted breach of contract without insisting he either abide by his contract or offer some form of compensation in lieu you can expect more of the same in the future.

So it wasn't his choice, he was manipulated by his manager and his wife? His manager is there to represent him, JA always has a choice to fire his manager. And idk what you are referring to with his wife, but regardless of whatever you're talking about, JA always has a choice, and ALWAYS should be responsible for his actions, like everyone else (who is mentally able to) should be.

Please elaborate if you are in a position to do so.

As I've stated that the plot doesn't change; it is now common knowledge that his wife and manager were his driven motifs for HIS choice of wanting an early release. Doesn't change anything, it was still choice and it was his poor way of reacting to the terms that led to the tarnish of his reputation

Can someone confirm where the 'I will never wear the jersey again' text came from?

I've seen claims in the thread that one of Aloiai's *mates* leaked it.

Does anyone have proof of this?

He didn't say that. I'm pretty sure I read that Lee H said in an interview, that he was told by JA that he had no desire to wear the jersey again.

excuses excuses. that's one of the main issues with the self centred, ego centric footballers - they can do whatever the hell they like because there is always someone who will make excuses for them and their behaviour whether its off field atrocities or breaking contracts. Absolutely zero accountability for sportspeople....
