Spoke to Josh today and showed him what I posted. He said it was fine and he’s not embarrassed by it because it’s all true. He also said if the Club feel they’ve acted appropriately then they shouldn’t feel uncomfortable about it either. For those honestly doubting the club implementing these deadlines etc, feel free to meet me at a home game next year and I’ll show you the correspondence between Josh’s management and the club. I’ve been a member of this forum for over 10 years, I’m not one to make things up.

Josh needs better mates. If a mate of mine posted details of my negotiations with my employer on a public forum, I'd never talk to them again. The only offensive part of the Tigers negotiations with Aloiai that @tiga4eva posted is the 24hr deadline which sounds ridiculous but none of us, not even Joshs mate know the background to this, Aloiai might not even. Could just as well be that his manager was stringing us out and the club (potentially quite rightly) said enough is enough.

Posted previously, I’ll be at Leichhardt, Ctown or Bankwest next year, we’ll meet up and I’ll show you the correspondence where it’s states it.

Does it state why they placed a 24hr deadline? Or what lead up to that point, how long his manager dragged things out? Why it has taken months before the Tigers put a deadline on it?

Posted previously, Josh needs better mates.

We need better management

Mate I dont think you have thought about what you have done.

By airing what *you think* is the clubs dirty laundry here, you have outed your "friend" as untrustworthy with information and a potential leak in the club. He will always be thought of in that context. You deleted your original post, but it was here for a long time and of course was splashed all over facebook.

You have impacted your "friends" status in the club and no doubt will impact his negotiations with the club. More than that you have publicly tried to perpetuate a poor perception of the club. That has ramifications for the club in attracting new players, it has ramifications for us (and supposedly you) as fans and guess what , it has the biggest ramification for your "friend" Josh.

If Josh stays at the Tigers, his negotiations, potentially financially, and his status and reputation within the club will be tainted forever that he has loose lips and a is a leak and untrustworthy. Potentially if he stays at the club, you may cost him a captaincy position. If he stays, you perpetuating the poor perception of the club (based on one side of the story) may in part cost us other players and weaken the team your "friend" plays in.

NO doubt you think he is leaving and none of this matters but this reputation will precede him wherever he goes. If he is negotiating with Manly, part of their deliberations will be that Josh if Josh is upset he shares all of his side of the story with his mates to plaster all over social media.

What you did by spreading this has no winners, but you got some likes so I guess all is OK.

Is he a super star player? NO
Is he an injury prone player ? YES
Is 10% increase fair offer considering our Hamstrung SC situation ? YES
Is he irreplaceable as a player? NO

Will our recruiting team obtain a suitable replacement? DOUBTFUL

There are any number of players out there with the same ability as Josh.

Can you name the available ones for 2021 please. Genuinely interested.

I think they will have to let him go, even though he is signed for next year.

Don't know anyone of equal ability myself off contract at the moment.

Doesnt fit his "club was nasty to my friend" narrative. Aloia may not even know what has gone on between the club and his manager let alone his "friend". There would be a reason the club put a deadline on negotiations, if its even true that they did.

More fishiness is that supposedly the club put a "24hr deadline" on Josh, but they are meeting later this week?

It literally makes no sense for them to give him a deadline when the deal is for 2022 and we have heaps of salary cap. So it’s either not true/exaggerated or there’s already been plenty of negotiations and his manager has made life hard. As you mentioned earlier having all this splashed over social media doesn’t help joshs chances of getting a better deal, not a great way to help your buddy

A deadline to me means once it passes that's it...end of story..both parties move on..this now doesn't seem to be the case here..

Otherwise what's the point of a deadline..

Let's look at Mr. McIntyre's last 4 games (when he should've been at his best)

Round 16 v Penrith - 53 mins, 7 runs only 37 metres. 39 tackles but he missed 6! WORST IN TEAM.
Round 17 v Manly - 33 mins. 7 runs 65 metres. Only 15 tackles buT 2 INNEFECTIVE.
Round 18 v Rabbits- 38 min. 8 runs 64 metres. 23 tackles but 2 MISSED. WORST OF THE FORWARDS.
Round 19 v Melbourne- 14 mins. 0 runs! 12 tackles 1 MISSED.

Bloke was defensively weak passenger and a plodding passenger in attack. Just as he was every game he played for the Magpies. He's not up to first grade.

Stick to your stats, I'll stick to watching the game.

I'll see him hurt players, I'll see him hit the ball loose, God knows what you will see.

You'll see him sitting in the grandstand watching blokes that can play do the things he's incapable of.

I'll get back to you when he rips it up. Hopefully it won't be in our game.

Then again it could be the game he cuts Seyfarth in half.

It may have went like this.

There was a first offer, which Aloiai didn't like. Then a second offer, but that second offer had the deadline. When the deadline passed for the second offer, that's off the table, and they're back to the first lower offer.

But idk, who knows.

Not that I have seen yet. But do they have to? Is he even on contract? I'm not sure.
Interesting that the rumours only from the Foxsports desk is that he has only signed a one year contract at the titans. If he was as good as some on here say, he should be on a multi year million dollar deal. Ah well, maybe another club not believing his hyped worth.

Yeah, GC announced him on a one year deal. He wasn’t contracted to Tigers for 2021 so yeah, wouldn’t have to announce his departure I wouldn’t think.

As well as Josh’s mate he also sounds like a big Tigers fan. He speaks for a lot of us that are completely fed up with the way we do business as a club. I for one am happy for these stories to be shared as it might somehow lead to some positive changes at the joint.

Queue the club apologists hammering me..... now.

Cool , but how does that help Josh get a contract , with his current employer , who I’m assuming is dirty , because he actually gives a toss?
I’ve stated already I think the 24 hr thing is cold . I’ve also stated , I’m dirty at the last 10 weeks as a fan and member . And I think if josh has another year like last he should get the 500k. But if he gets injured , which everything being said about playing hurt , actually proves the point , it’s hard to pay someone 500k if you’re not confident they’re going to do their job. Would you want to pay someone who is perpetually on light duties all the time ?
And here in lies the problem . How much is a guy who loves the club , but gets his fair share of injuries , and is above average , worth ?
Also can you lay off mate seriously . We have only lost McIntyre , and not signed JAC for next year. It’s hardly tantrum worthy!

Mate. Come on. Short memories.

There are no less than 13 of the current origin players that we have either released or gone after but failed to recruit. So no I won’t lay off.

Man , I’m not worried about 3-4 years ago . I’m worried yesterday , tomorrow and today. We have recruited a whole bunch of good juniors , and , are trying our best to nab a big fish . But he issue is , we are fighting the channel 9 crew in rep positions , who all are associated with easts , just purely a coincidence. Also we are fighting that period where we made all those poor decisions , those guys who are friends with ,play with , play against who were all in and around that.
Even if the message is “we are not like the old days “ , it would still be a perception out there that’s “man it’s still the tigers ... I dunno”.
That unconscious and conscious bias , is what we have to transcend .
The only way to do that ... is to be better with the 18-21 range who weren’t around when that other garbage happened . I believe that’s happening ... because there’s a lot of elite kids here now .

I agree whole heartedly, so they need go out and get a young Burton or a Crichton to prove to me and other fans that they deserve their pay cheques.

Jimmy the Jet, please.

Why does that need to happen? If we have the kids there , and they’re not ready ,wouldn’t it be prudent , to fill the current squad with people who can do the job , but if a kid pushes through , it’s not the end of the world who drop ? Basically what benji was supposed to be , except he couldn’t help himself , and it turned into a farce .

Because if we wait around until one of these elite 15 year olds actually becomes good they will nick off in a heart beat because they’re playing with jimmy the jet and some other old bloke who doesn’t want to be there.

Most are between 17-20 from my understanding ? Eg , Simpkins , Hoffman , Kei

I just hope youre all right about these wonder kids and still fear for blooding them against teams full of elite footy players, it’s actually negligent if you ask me

Are you reading what I’m saying or what ? I literally just said the opposite to that .

Right. People who can do the job. Sorry. That was a bit vague for me. Sounds like you’re asking me to just keep supporting mediocrity

Do whatever you want . In a league with no draft , the only way out for clubs who don’t have the glamour . Is to identify youth and develop them . We went away from that when the crop we developed which was , Brooks , Moses , Tedesco , C Sironen , Nofoaluma , Brown , Simona , Fotueika , Felise , etc only 2 of them stuck around . Or tragedy struck .
We decided to buy , not realising that the only players in that game are easts , the sharks and the dogs .
It was a bad strategy . We are just returning to the right path now , and it will take time .

No good identify youth and developing them if you then don't retain them when they start to hit their peak years.

This is where we are falling over at the moment.

That is where we have failed in the past but that is not where we are struggling right now.

Maguire re-installed the junior development and recruiting of good young kids to come through the system.

Previous coaches lost those players, not this coach!

It does sound like there has been some poor decisions or processes within the club recently however I think we just have to see how we go over the next couple of seasons. It's not all doom and gloom.

I hope no one minds if I wait for actual official type news from player or club. I tend to avoid news from people trying to big note themselves as friends, cousins, buddies, pubmates, because they have a personal need to be wanted and feel important, especially when they didn't get enough likes on facebook or instagram today.

Anything official from the club about McIntyre?

Not that I have seen yet. But do they have to? Is he even on contract? I'm not sure.
Interesting that the rumours only from the Foxsports desk is that he has only signed a one year contract at the titans. If he was as good as some on here say, he should be on a multi year million dollar deal. Ah well, maybe another club not believing his hyped worth.

Yeah, GC announced him on a one year deal. He wasn’t contracted to Tigers for 2021 so yeah, wouldn’t have to announce his departure I wouldn’t think.

Our admin probably haven't realised he's left yet.

Club’s meeting with him and management this week and I hope they can all resolve it.

I think most would like to see him stay and hope he does.

The difficult thing for people to understand at times is that there are many decisions to be made and some decisions hinge upon others.
Yes - I understand Josh wants to weigh up offers - we all would. But, the club needs resolution one way or the other. If it doesn't have that it can't move on to other needs/ opportunities.

Obviously, I don't know the 'real story' but if negotiations have been ongoing for some time, the club decided it needed a decision rather than having to wait and potentially miss out in a narrow window of opportunity should Josh decide to move on.
