Is he better than Mika , last year definitely , but Mika showed some much in 2019 . And finally is he better than Stefano . Who knows , but the raps on Stefano were never ever on Josh , not that that means anything .

I think he was our best middle forward last year by a fair margin and will be a pretty big loss. But he's not worth what Manly are reportedly paying him.

Definitely. He is a loss for sure. Guess we have to hope Musgrove, Mikaele and Stefano can step up. My hopes aren’t high

Seyfarth 1 year, McIntyre only offered 1yr, hard ball with Aloiai. Some thing is brewing at Tigertown. I think they are clearing the decks for a massive tilt at 2022 when we get rid of Packer & Reynolds (thank you Cpt Obvious)

Our club can’t catch a break can it. Of all the luck, it’s always us. An off season drama every off season since 2015. You don’t have to be angry about it (I’m not) but your head is in the sand if you think the club aren’t unprofessional. The CEO can’t even be bothered dressing and grooming himself for God’s sake. But it’s the players fault. I don’t think so.

Maybe the CEO should bleach his hair in the off season but then again it'll be so last year and funnily enough ironic

Yep, he took a leap this year . But he couldn’t break 100m is 2019. I guess manly are banking on this being the player they get from here on in . Bear in mind this is Des Hasler who rated Aiden Tollman as the best front rower in the game ... and paid him as such even though he never was. I think this is peak Josh . He’s not worth 700k.

We urgently need the NRL to legislate laws that prohibit players from seeking releases and gaining financial rewards. My only concern would be the under table stuff that would go on.

Anyway without doubt the biggest stain on the game at present are the player management groups. They have total control of the player market and the clubs and players are just pawns

He's not worth what they're paying him, no way, but he's a quality middle forward and was the best one we had (imo). C'est la vie.

I'm a big fan of the NFL, watch my Carolina Panthers every Monday morning, and in the NFL, a team or an agent can not negotiate with another team within a contract of player. If found out to be guilty of doing so, a player and/or his agent can be suspended league wide for a period of time & an organisation will lose draft picks plus fined. It's a way of keeping the integrity of the league with binding contracts. If a player asks for a release of his contract, they lose their signing bonus plus the remainder of their contract, some signing bonuses are quite large if they are an elite player.

The NRL might learn a bit about contractual obligations from the NFL.

Draft and trade system makes it happen with a. Seperate college league as the feeder system. Contracts have value as they are traded for players and picks. Best young talent goes to the worst team. This happens in the NFL see Antinion Brown, Leveon Bell but over there they cop penalties and sacrifice contracts. Over here they cry and get a release.

He's not worth what they're paying him, no way, but he's a quality middle forward and was the best one we had (imo). C'est la vie.

He had a strong year, but I believe he is best suited as an impact prop from the bench.
The new rules make him vulnerable around the ruck when tired. I would have been excited to see him next year off the bench with tamou starting.

Not worth 600-700k. No wonder he wants out, that is stupid money from manly and he wants to sign before someone realises dessie is destroying another salary cap.

Lee on SEN now saying he will be pushing the NRL to ensure that players requesting releases on compassionate grounds cannot profit from the release and that their remuneration should remain the same for the remaining period on the defaulted contract.

I agree with him. Should generate support from all clubs.

If this constant defaulting on contracts stops it should arrest the rapid rate of increasing player salaries.

This would stop players leaving for any financial incentive (as far as anyone can see legally at least), but if a player simply wants out to play for another club then this instead will benefit the club they're heading to (and open up more options for the player, since every club only needs to pay this set amount). So it's a step in the right direction, but only half the puzzle.

Yea it doesn't really take away the incentive to move. Clubs would just reaarange their cap by front loading someone else for the following year and upping the moved players contract the following year . i.e..1.8mill over 3 years equates to 600k each year but if they can only pay him 400k year 1 they frontload someone else 200k for that year and pay the remainder of the contract over the following 2 years.
