Even if half the rumor's are not true, it's still ugly. JP talks about the importance of the organizations people:

https://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2020/09/10/ceo-justin-pascoe-our-people-are-our-greatest-asset/

but here we are with a future leader of the club being low balled and given a deadline....Seems odd.

Strap in boys, gunna be a tough (er) couple of seasons.

Why this entire saga has been a blessing in disguise, I for one am very happy with how this has turned out, from Lee directing the narative before the Media got a chance to, to us refusing on a release all the way to Aloiai and his low iq meme

@tigertye His probably drunk trying to type on that photo

Wow, just saw his meme. What a moron.

Hahhahaha,

Just in case we have people tuning in late sneaky repost

Surely that’s a gee up he can’t have posted that, I’m getting absolutely fed up with these brats. If I was Madge I’d make him do preseason training everyday for the whole of next year, but we all know he’d pull a heartlige

Don't do that! That'll give Manly a player in great shape. Sit him for the year with a bucket of KFC, being of Islander heritage, he'll put on some kgs.

Surely we can claw the contract value back by fining the bollocks off him with the quote about our jumper and this insta post...

Hopefully all it will cost us to hang onto him is a top 30 spot

Looks like he's deleted the post now![19a25462-dac0-4d8d-baba-b2199fa0bdbb-image.png](/assets/uploads/files/1605611657675-19a25462-dac0-4d8d-baba-b2199fa0bdbb-image.png)

Lol well this thread has exploded.

Few things from me:

1. Josh is a decent player at this stage, nothing more and certainly no 600k player
2. I've never liked him, based on his social media activities, so if he's gone I won't feel conflicted
3. His 'mate' posting on here making it look like the clubs at fault for the 24hr deadline... sounds like Josh had a deal done with Manly by then.
4. Actually think the club has handles this well - only problem is we're running out of first graders

He’s not going to guarantee manly a top 8 slot.
It doesn’t help us if he kicks stones. Hit manly up for 100k for our cap and let him go.

If the offer of $450k a year is on the mark he wasn't low-balled.
The money is about right for his quality. The deadline only followed prolonged discussions and in those circumstances is quite reasonable. I'm 100% with the club on this.

Where does that $450k figure come from please?

It seems like good dollars for a frontrower that doesn't work too hard around the ruck in defence.

What's happening to me ??

Chammas at SMH, also said he was asking for 600, and Manly forums are stating he has signed for just north of 500 for 22 and 23. No reliable information that it was dependant on a 21 release but I reckon its true if Lee’s that pissed about it.

Josh has lost the plot - might be sleep deprived or more likely being very poorly advised.
For every action there is a positive or negative reaction. Josh might live to regret some of his recent ones.

Theres already some articles about his insta brain fart but behind pay walls, seriously considering getting in there to have a laugh lol

oh heres on not behind a paywall,

Lee’s about to go nuts in the morning, would love to be a fly in the wall at the WT headquarters

This is what the DT has quoted Lee H as saying on the contingent stuff :

"I was informed that the ‘22 and ‘23 deal may be contingent on a release for 2021."

Who informed him? And now he says it "may be contingent". If he is going to go to the media he should make sure all his ducks are in a row first - he seems to be backtracking on his hard stance earlier.

No, terrible idea, it will just keep happening to us if we do that.

Chammas reporting Tigers offered him an upgrade to $450k a season. He rejected it wanting over $600k. After a month of negotiations they gave him a one day deadline after hearing he’d gone to manly and he chucked a fit

It’s the right decision from the club in the end. Madge and co are certainly making sure they don’t overpay for ANYONE, same thing happened with JAC. It will cost us some players but it’s needed as we’ve been in salary cap strife for too long

If true this shows how hard it is for the club to manage the cap. I reckon 500k is a really good salary for a middle forward. It's a top middle forward in the comp. Manly offering 600k is nuts. I understand they do it because they figure they have to pay overs to get a guy out of a club.

The problem is we need to retain these guys on what we've apparently offered.

It sounds like we've been trying to manage the situation but it's solely a $$$ game.

Lowballed. You're kidding.

Aloiai told his friends lies in hopes the fans would construct a positive narrative of him. It backfired.
