It’s not doing anyone any good with the handling of this drama. It’s not smart on the players behalf there are two breaches of contract already in the comments and then social media policy. Having a crack at the chairman who runs a large law firm is not the smartest thing in the world you can do.

It will backfire spectacularly two breach notices and a suspension without pay will cost the player big money. Matterson was smarter everything was off the record.

My employer would sack me and enforce a non competition clause so I couldn’t work in the industry for 12 months. Stay offline about anything to do with your contracted employer.

Interesting point you make! There is actually a clause in every NRL contract that players must aspire to play first grade. It is illegal for an NRL contracted player to not attempt to play first grade. By declaring he'll "never wear a Wests Tigers jumper again", he is technically in breach of his contract.

I'd love to see him sacked and not allowed to play for the 2021 season.

Don't think he said he wouldnt wear a tigers jersey again. Im pretty sure he said he had no desire to wear one. Theres a big difference between the two.

I tried to find it on Instagram. Admittedly I know zero about that app but I couldn't find it coming from JA's account. I assume it's a mockup.

It was posted as a "story" which are automatically deleted after 24 hours. I you look at his page, click on his picture, he posted another story something about judge him by his actions, not what you read.

I like the way Following the LM circus, Madge publicly stated WT will not be paying overs for anyone! I like the stance Lee is taking publicly on this Aloiai issue, just hope he doesn’t allow it to go further, which I’m sure he won’t. This is all about the culture and WT image that we all wanted changed. ***What does confuse me is why Pascoe isn’t the one leading this change in direction?*** Talking to a mate recently, he had all sorts of issues. His doc advised him to stop drinking coffee and it solved all his problems.

Because Lee has a higher profile and carries more weight than Pascoe does by nature of the fact that he sponsors and fetes such a wide spread of the NRL landscape. He is widely liked and respected.

Don’t misunderstand me, I love The message and Lee’s brutal delivery in defence of the club’s integrity but the CEO could have done that, surely? The more Lee does this the lower his standing. Agree 100%. I think if you listen carefully to Lee on Vossy you will hear a very subtle allusion to what you're saying. Lee is somewhat of a reluctant hero in that regard. But best he steps up to the plate and shows the way in the early days of his tenure.

Agree @mikey, I see him extending his duty to the club in making a strong public relations announcement about the unethical motives and behaviour during professional dealings. No fan should really have much of an issue with Lee's comment.
It might be uncomfortable(to be in the media spotlight again) but it's been a long time coming.

Most of my mates, who follow various teams, not Wests Tigers, agree with our chairman’s edict. As one they stated that it was about time someone took a stand in regard to players trying to break contracts.

**Problem is the situation becomes untenable, he has friends at the club who will back him potentially creating a toxic culture,** a player swap is the best outcome but we never seem to be able to arrange one.

And this is the reason why we always have to roll over and let them go. Very few of our players seem to leave gracefully and us trying to make them stay just threatens to stuff up team harmony, which is way more important than keeping one player.

Not doubt this will happen again with Aloiai, we will be forced to let him walk because the situation will just get so bad and be played out in the media all off season once again. It's just like Matterson all over again, but worse imo. I'd expect it from a mercenary like Matterson, but I never expected this sort of behaviour from a guy like Aloiai. It's really disappointing.

I'm a little concerned with some of the stuff Blore does/likes on Instagram. I think it'd be to his benefit if someone sat down with him and tried to rein in his social media habits.
It's easy to make yourself look like a nitwit.

I'm with you on that one. The alarm bells were ringing when he made some comments in relation to that stabbing incident after that Brothers game out west a couple of months ago as well.

Most of my mates, who follow various teams, not Wests Tigers, agree with our chairman’s edict. As one they stated that it was about time someone took a stand in regard to players trying to break contracts.

Of course WT were on the other side of this situation recently with JAC. WT were respectful of the contract Storm had in place and Bellamy appreciated that. We had to wait for Stefano. We’re now waiting for Laurie. And so it goes. I’ve read a few comments on social media. Appears to me that WT finally taking a stand has been seen as the underdog finally finding its voice. It’s been a PR victory for us all, especially us fans who wonder what they’re doing only to find the situation has gone south without knowing why.


With that in mind, I’m now feeling confident that Josh Addo-Carr will be at Wests Tigers in 2022. Respect is a two way street.
