Am I being too negative about today's performance ??

I'm having a shocker of a week to be honest ??

But am I being too negative with my points raised in the Live Game thread

Maybe our defence in the main was slightly better than our average 2022 performance ...but what else was better than 2022

Chance for the fans that can see the positives of todays performance to maybe steal us from the Dark side
I was feeling negative too. Confusion in attack. Uncontested bombs leading to tries. Panicked early tackle kicks. Dropped balls. But then I did see a lot of positives when we decide to play. Crunching tackles. Wide passing. Meters up the middle. Quick ruck plays. Good contesting of bombs. If we convert the negatives into positives we turn it around. I think I’ll stay positive and hope we settle into some winning combinations. Quickly.

if we drop another 2 in a row don’t be suprised if the heads start dropping and we end up with the spoon again.

it got to a point last season they turned up only because they had to.

im all about optimism but there wasnt many positive signs everything went our way even the penalty count which is a rarity for us and we still could only muster an embarrassing 10 points on the board with 40+ tackles in their 20 against in my eyes a spoon contending side
Dont worry to much mate, once the boys club get it right which may take a while we could end up without the spoon....one point out of it....

It is a new era. We have 2 years of Benji shadow coaching under Sheens, then 5 of Benji. Lots to go yet. I'm in for the ride tbh, I reckon Benji is a very attractive coach to play under rn and we'll go alright eventually. Chooks lost to the Phins today. Early days.
If we have a bad year then Benji becomes a very unattractive coach..... for anther 4 years

I've always said it's a bottom 4 side and nothing has changed. Sure the forwards have improved but the backs starting with you know who and let the ball bounce are piss weak. Ah well at least the Pies flogged Easts.

Just take a deep breath and remember they are new players trying to gel....HOWEVER the things you mentioned ARE BASICS OF THE GAME...with what these dumbos get paid you would think they would have the guts to at least contend for a high ball or take a pass or hold the ball while running straight...

the under 12s I used to coach showed more intestinal fortitude than these wanna bees....

“the juniors though the junnnnniors” why sign all these blokes on big contracts if u aint trying to contend now 🤣 its all a smoke screen #sheensconspiracy
all these new signings will be running water and orange peels by the time these “juniors” are ready. love tiger town

Can I just say mate, dont be gutted, while you have Benji,Farah,Sheens and Pascoe in the joint it will only fatten the pension fund....this joint needs a professional up heaval, out with the old and in with the new...
Heres food for thought...everyone on here said what a poor squad the Dolphins have got...

BUT GEE WHAT A GREAT COACHING PERFORMANCE TO GET THEM TO WIN FIRST UP AGAINST A PREMIERSHIP SIDE...

Change my mind....
Who is our Kaufusi?

I watched the Dolphins game after the Tigers. Difference was like night and day. They laid a beating on the Roosters. Tigers looked all over the place. I figured the Titans might struggle after losing Fermor (who is very underrated). But Tino was channeling his inner Tawera Nikau and he dominated the midfield.

For several years now I have questioned Luke Brooks leadership skills. More recently I've kept quiet about it but I still don't see anything there. Obviously, the coaching staff can see something I can't.
Serious question. Can anyone out there point to what I'm missing?

I have been one of Brooks loyal backers. Thinking an improved forward pack will unleash his abilities this season. Yesterday was concerning. Not writing him off just yet but he needs to pull his finger out over the next few games to keep the vultures at bay.

Ok, thanks for your reply, but what are those abilities?
I fail to see how a brand new team, like the dolpins, cobbled together with bits and pieces from other teams can do better than our recently reassembled team.
Why do we need time to 'gel' and they don't? Is it because they have leaders on the field?

Sheens alluded to it in the press conference. He’s trying to generate points by going for the big play too often. Just leads to errors. That comes from years of being the only threat and playing in a beaten side. Needs to learn to be patient (build pressure) and pick the right moments. Others don’t help with simple errors.

Tino is a hell of a player.
The bloke is 23 and has already won a GF, 2 x SOO series and a WC for Australia, whilst entering his second season as club captain.
