Tommy talau huge liability. I would feel much more comfortable with To'a at centre, and keep Naden in the other spot. Staines and Tupou if Nofa keeps making errors. I still think Nofa offers a lot in attack.

They had something like 42 or 44 tackles in the opening parts of the match and couldn't score.

Knew they were going to lose after not being able to score against the 2nd worst defence in the league.

Was at the game and was not confident from the opening whistle as I actually rate the Titians. Although I did not expect what our mob produced. Zero structure, seemed little in the way of a game plan. I thought the 6 and 7 had no idea how to control a set.

Maybe our defence in the main was slightly better than our average 2022 performance ...but what else was better than 2022

Not much was better, Api off the bench was dumb. 3 Gfs in a row, origin and 3 rings and they dont start him. We had all the ball at the start and got 2 points, Api needed to be on during that period. Brookes was awful as usual cant get a good 5th tackle option to save himself and 6 missed tackles. We got a world class back row and got them zero early ball with no space cause our forwards are to busy throwing passes instead of creating momentum. We need a half back and fullback who are at NRL standard every week until we do we will not play finals in the NRL.

He went away from the simple game he had at Parra, run hard, tackle hard, chase kicks hard, then be alert to the opportunities to offload, take a bomb etc. The coaching committee need to tell him run first, be cute later, but unfortunately I think they believe rugby league is a game that is best played side to side.

I heard they are spreading the ball to combat when defence rush up in a compressed line. But they need to fine the right mix.

A gift start to the season playing 3 of the lesser teams in the comp could be completely ruined if we don’t step it up quickly. Mind you we’re often more likely to roll the better teams or at least challenge them more, it seems to be our MO. I just really hate losing to the teams we should beat well if we played our best, losing the valuable points from those ‘winnable’ games is the reason we never make the finals.

After watching the game twice now, I'd say we are closer to 2004 than we are to 2005 in terms of where the club stands in development. They are going to need to learn how to blend shifting the pass with attacking the line- but I think the intent was there.

Idk what game you watched but our second row had plenty of early ball. Both Brooks and Doueihi fed the ball to Papali'i and Kepaoa. Ice in particular was causing havoc down his edge. No line breaks but lots of metres gained.

He got a tonne of metres and looked dangerous. He did make a mistake or two but he is a quality player.

Klem was pretty awesome as well, didn't shy away from work and went at it all day, our forwards laid a decent platform and didn't take a backward step. Our backs just need to gel and need to be crisper on the ball movement and pass selection. In saying that though the stupid errors we make need to leave our game before we find any real consistency. We made 3 errors that led to 3 tries.

It would be good to know why we had to have the full compliment of 30 players signed before a ball was kicked in anger - no flexibility when things go wrong or in our case continue on from last year.

Can't believe we didn't leave a spot open in case someone became available or if there was someone who was absolutely killing it in the lower grades or even if we needed to desperately promote someone due to a serious injury.

Still 9 more rounds to go before we can use any of these lower tier guys and it's not like we would get any special dispensation from the NRL if there was a serious injury, after all, we aren't the Roorters.

I remember saying a few months ago my concern was our Rolls Royce pack was going to set platforms that our Datsun backline wouldn’t be able to finish off. That’s what happened.
We need to get the backline firing more like a Commodore and we’ll see some results.

We upgraded to the Datsun 200B from the older 180B model, the 200B has 20 more mistakes than the 180B.

No line breaks you just hit the nail on the head mate. dont know what game you watched but foran put fafita through multiple times. Early ball doesnt mean side to side mate it means early ball in attacking positions. ICE got hardly any and Kepaoa is a winger who never should have been 17. They were awful mate and the titans are a very weak club
