Anasta out for up to three weeks

This is incorrect. Anasta was signed by Sheens as our first choice #7, this was Sheens official line when the signing was announced. He was never signed as a depth player or an old head in the forwards signing. He was signed as a first choice halfback. It was an absurd signing.

You're quite right, we actually did tout Anasta as a number 7, what a train wreck. I'd forgotten about that act of Sheenius. At the time the rule seemed to be that Marshall owned the number 6 jersey, regardless of what role he was actually playing. We couldn't go saying "hey we just bought a spare 5/8th" now could we? That would have offended princess Benji.

Here's a Foxsport article written at the time. Some of the comments, mostly from Roosters fans, are gold.

Only 3 weeks. Hope he takes the time away from the game and decides to retire.

Austin here is your oportunity to continue to shine in your preferred position

I think your right this is Austin's chance to cement that 6 jersey and if he does Anasta might even struggle for even a bench spot but then again who knows if Potter want's that experience around Brook's for the rest of the year , regardless how well Austin goes the next 3 weeks

potter would be doing thefans and the team a disservice if he kept anasta in if austin is doing well

Whilst I wish Braith no ill will, his form is not deserving of a spot in first grade, let alone a playmaking role,so this injury could be a catylist for Brooks and Austin to form a good combination,I am looking forward to watching now.

This is the "break" Austin needed…2 or 3 games at #6 to show us and Potter if he is worthy of the gig full time....I would also play Fults at #9 to give Luani a break until Robbie comes back...as for Rowe with Simona suspended for 2/3 weeks we have no alternative but to persevere with Rowe at #1 until Teddy returns(hurry up)!

how much semi final football experience does Austin have in first grade compared to Anasta? And do you think this will be imperative in September? Please don't answer - its rhetorical.

Not sure what to take from that semis experience comment. Maybe all teams should bring back their out of form players once they get to the semi

I agree with that. It's one thing to say that a more experienced player will keep a cooler head in a pressure game, but if they can't produce any more in the regular season, then this alleged consistency isn't going to help at all in the finals.
